She was talking about me, but is now trying to squirm her way out of it by saying she didn't mention my name. She didn't need to. Everyone knows who she had in mind.
If not me, then who else could she have been referring to?
William Schryver is responsible for this attrocious rumor that describes my exit as a result of crushed pride after losing a debate with an anti. Charity is merely doing her duty in relaying the rumor, being the quintessential MAD poster that she is. Next thing you know, she'll start talking about how Gee had Ritner removed from his dissertation committee.

charity wrote:Hi, Trevor. What is your complaint, exactly?
I was responding to the claim that a message board changed someone's religious orientation. I said that what I heard said that wasn't true in one case. I named no names. Then ck comes in with some inflammatory information attached to real names. I denied stating that. Gave the reason I heard. Again no names. Now, if someone you know fits that description, I suppose it your right to jump to conclusions.
What isn't nice? My innocuous statements, or other people's conclusions and flaming remarks about people by name?
You want details? How about asking for them in order. The first post that said people changed sides because of message board activity. Let's hear names and details from that post.
My problem?
That you take this conversation as your opportunity to take a swipe at someone. By the frank admission of a number of people who post as critics now, they started as apologists. I personally started to critique apologists when I was on a.r.m., mostly because I saw some really poor argumentation from that side. I don't think it was necessary to start compiling the large list of former apologists turned critics of one kind or another. It is not as if this is an empty rumor.
You act all innocent, but I think your nasty intent is pretty clear. It was not enough for you to mention a rumor. You had to make it as denigrating to the person in question as possible. You were taunting. Your protestations of innocence are risable. Frankly, I think you are a nasty piece of work, as your first thread here reveals quite clearly.

I'm not sure we're talking to the real charity, but after a few posts and the displayed idiocy, whoever is using her screen name and avatar is doing a bang-up job making it look like the moron from MAD.
I don't really care if you stay or not. Something tells me you won't survive here long. DCP is marginally smarter than you, and he couldn't hack it. Of course, maybe the fact that he recognized he couldn't stand up to anyone's arguments here is likely the only thing that makes him slightly smarter than you.
Just spit-balling here.

I read some of the threads over there and I was impressed with your ability to speak informatively and not lose patience with them and their tactics.
Tactics are incidental. It's what to do about the facts that is important.

Maybe you could go spit 'em at somebody else, Schmo.
Some of us do care if she posts here. Some of us would like a couple more TBM's to join the board, and if this is the real Charity, I'd rather she not be given the boiling oil and pitchforks welcome.
Most of us will admit that having both critics and TBM's makes MADB a more interesting atmosphere. The same goes for here. If you want MD to be a better message board, you and some of the others here are going to have to allow TBM's to remain--without trying to run us off.
You don't have to like us, but unless you want to just sit around griping about the church amongst yourselves (which you can do at any number of other boards set up for that express purpose), then you'll have to be a little more tolerant of an LDS presence here.

I second that. This place suffers from a dearth of believing posters, and I'm glad charity is here and David Bokovoy is gracing us with his presence for at least one thread. I have never understood why some people are so intent on driving away the believers.
If I want to gripe about church, I'd tell you about the Gospel Doctrine class I sat through yesterday. Excruciating.

Who said I was trying to drive her away? Maybe she'll read what I said, feel like the gauntlet has been thrown down, and she'll stay just to spite me. That would be just fine with me. I don't really care either way, to tell you the truth.
I'm not trying to run anyone off. But I'm certainly going to say whatever I'm thinking at any given time, like I always have. I don't consider anyone's presence here special, and I'll definitely take the opportunity to tell charity, juliann, DCP, or any of the other dipsticks that hang at MAD exactly what I think, things that would have been deleted while I was there. That's partly what this board is for.
Sorry (but not really).

I was commenting on the gratuitous attacks some people make on believers. I wasn't speaking of you or speaking your mind. I'm glad this place exists because people can say whatever they want, as long as it is appropriate to the forum (heck, I sometimes post on the telestial forum).
