Well....he is a "He".
That can make a difference. ;)
Actually, no, I haven't read much of Orson Scott Card's stuff. Does he have pre-marital sex in his sci-fi novels?
Again, let me clarify. I don't think that Stephenie Meyers should go to any type of Church court. I think anyone should be able to write whatever they want. But since the Church has taken such a hard line on disciplining members who state things publicly that might embarrass the organization as a whole, I was just curious as to how this was perceived.
Frankly, I'm glad to find that the TBM's here think the way they do on this issue.

He's had sex outside marriage. He even once wrote a short story about a boy chosen by God and basically mentally compelled to sleep with a woman tobring forth the second Quetzalcoatl. He's also written rape scenes and even created a situation where a child (the hero) murders another in a kind of self-defense. All of these are of course out of context to heighten dramatic effect.

There is no premarital sex in the books. Edward spends most of all the books sleeping next to Bella in a very platonic way. These Meyers vampires are very unvampire-like. They don't suck human blood. They aren't sexual creatures. Why else do you think they would be popular with the church youth? They're absolutely puritanical in nature. There is kissing, but that would hardly justify church sanction.
Meyers ought to be excommunicated from vampire fan club everywhere for neutering the concept of vampires. Lestat is rolling in his coffin, I tell ya.

I haven't read any of her stuff, but my wife and daughter have, and my wife said there's no actual sex in the books.
Mormonism ceased being a compelling topic for me when I finally came to terms with its transformation from a personality cult into a combination of a real estate company, a SuperPac, and Westboro Baptist Church. - Kishkumen

It looks like they don't have sex until they are actually married. But, when I read some information about the movie coming out which is based on the first book, it talked about a bed scene. From the article, it also sounded like Ms. Meyers was at least consulted regarding the movie script, and she did make a comment about not wanting to be confused with the kind of Mormon housewife who "wears denim jumpers and sneakers all the time" and that soon people realized that even though she was Mormon, she was "normal".
She has the following disclaimer on her website:
*** My opinions on the movie matter to no one. I have no influence on what goes on with the movie at all. No one is going to ask who I think should star in Twilight.***
She may have exaggerated that her opinions do not matter. However, any say she has clearly stems from the good graces of the people producing the movie.

No, I don't think Orson Scott Card has pre-marital sex in his sci-fi novels. His characters might, however.
"Finally, for your rather strange idea that miracles are somehow linked to the amount of gay sexual gratification that is taking place would require that primitive Christianity was launched by gay sex, would it not?"

No blood? Okay, never mind. Not going to read these books. Utter crap. Don't tell me they're like those stupid kids who insist that they're vampires but they're energy vampires because they suck the life force out of you by looking at you. If they are, I'm all for Church discipline. GET OUT HERETIC!!!
