Scratch:
I would imagine that poor Scotty Dog feels devastated over DCP's utter defeat. Scott must really feel crushed.

Nightingale, thank you for your thoughtful posts. They deserve pondering on the part of those who run the board, as well as those of us who read or participate on the board.

:ugeek: Hopefully Shades' board can live long and prosper :ugeek:

Isn't 00.02 Cdn cents worth about US$3.50 right about now?

No Canadian dollar is worth about 80 cents to a U.S. $. For a short period of time not too long ago they were at par.

A fair question to ask is whether participation by a higher volume of posters actually creates a better discussion board, regardless of content.

I have no doubt that Dan would be an enjoyable person spend time with. DCP certainly maintained a good volume of posts, but from my limited view, I don't know that I would call the majority of his posts a genuine discussion of topics. Some other member once described his board activity as running "interference". That seemed like a pretty solid estimation for the most part.

"That statement is wholly, patently, and demonstrably false. Peas, lentils, carob, and peanuts are legumes and simultaniously fruits. An avocado is a fruit, but this in no way allows it to share classification as a legume"

After typing that last couple of sentences, I feel like I can survive not reading DCP for atleast a few weeks.

I wish! As mentioned, we were at glorious par for a while and predicted to increase up to $1.25 CAD to USD but then the Bank of Canada adjusted the rate to keep us down. Overall for our economy a lower CAD is good but for individuals in small businesses and who travel to the US, a higher rate is much more desirable. But we've got to take a back seat to the trade issues and the feds play with the rates to favour cross-border business and trade for the majority. I'd be thrilled with par. Anything higher is a bonanza for me but I won't hold my breath that they would ever let that happen again or at least over the long term.

Moksha: Thanks so much for your kind words. Much appreciated. The trick in compromise is for everyone to have similar goals and obviously that is difficult to achieve when working with disparate groups. Perhaps the idea of the Celestial level here is the best it can get. There's no reason that Celestial couldn't be appealing to people from all sides due to the rules for that forum re how best to interact and also the larger mod presence there to keep it on focus in that way. It's true that people tend to stay in this section. I guess it's seen as the main action place. I'll have to keep it in mind to visit Celestial more often. I thought it was for the smart people though. The experts. The researchers. The learned ones.

I wish!

That's all we do.
You, again bitch & moan about your wonderful country. Ill tell you that it is by far the best country to live (after Australia of course). You guys have soo damn good out there. Wait until global warming hits in full scale, you guys will have much better beaches than poor Australians used to.
And we poor US citizens will feel the heat.
You have no room to complain.

1. First, you are starting to scare me solo. You either do not comprehend what you read or you make things up. If it's the latter, maybe you have way too many negative preconceptions going into it so you totally misunderstand what someone says.

2. Second, point me to a single instance of where I "bitch & moan" about my country - ever. The opposite, in fact, if you're interested in truth.

3. Third, making a statement about reality does not equal either "bitching" or "moaning". Are you referring to me talking about the exchange rates in North America? If so, you have a very strange take on what I said. If not, I have no clue to what you may be referring.

4. Fourth, then leave me alone. I have zero interest in arguing with you, especially about picayune points or non-existent issues.

Aww, shcucks....
Story of my life, I misunderstand everybody...
Nobody's persecuting you. Especially on this day I feel so happy I got myself a brand new Land Rover.
I am sorry for you, Nightingale, you are just an average woman, with fears, preconceptions and all extras. I wish you well.
I don't want to cross your posts, ever.
You're pathetic.

Did I say different?

No need. Absolutely.

Again, did I ever say different? Not a rocket scientist, not world-renowned, not on a pedestal. However, given your past comments demeaning women, I suspect that from you "average" is meant to be a slur.

Right. And you're the one who constantly mentions your supposed wealth and your abuse of women. Speaking of pathetic.

You're no fun solo. You can make any thread into a total downer.
