But are you board members just willing to accept Goodk's description at face value? If you were in charge of the state's CPS, or the Governor, would you issue an executive order shutting down the facility on the pure weight of Goodk's website alone? Most of you here, Marg especially (who really doesn't want to answer the question, fearful of being cornered), would just junk the place.
Bob, I've answered your questions, it is you who doesn't address what I write.
The school is a private school for kids with soft to moderate behavioral problems, according to it's website. As T.D. pointed out sending kids to an institution states away from home, for years for soft to moderate behavioral issues is excessive. But who determines whether there are in fact even any behavioral issues. The school and parents should not be the ones assessing the kids. It should be an independent professional such as a psychiatrist. I've made this comment previously and you've ignored this point.
Remember, GoodK's core story is that he was shipped off there because he refused to attend seminary?
His story is that he was abductedby strangers to him. He had no idea before hand, no discussion. Since the step dad made the decision and not Eric, Eric isn't is the position to know exactly what was going through his step dad's mind. But it wasn't discussed before hand between them.
What Mormon couple with children they love would really do such a thing?
He's a step dad. I personally have my doubts about any love for Eric. When I first told my husband about Eric being sent away to a program and I didn't get into how abusive it was, my husband's reaction immediately was the step dad wanted to get rid of him. And I concur with that. That is my impression. No parent sends a mildly rebellious teen away for over 2 years to correct the mild rebellion.
Don't you see problems -- any problems -- with GoodK's story? No reports? No state investigations?
Let's see ..the facts are he was sent 2 states away for 2 years. You tell me what would justify that.
