So it doesn't matter if what you preach is founded on truth.
That explains why you are still l-ds. You, Paul Dunn and GordieB. Never let the truth get in the way of a good money raising opportunity.

I think not. I don't have ganders through blatantly anti-Mormon sites, and the fact that you get all your information from them says a lot about you and confirms my already held beliefs about you.

Since you obviously don't know how to use the quote feature to answer a question backed up with a source, I'll give you an example:

The 1912 Challenge
More caustic comments were made about Smith's interpretations of the pictures in the Facsimiles in 1912:
From: Larson, p. 27-28
At least that was how the Rt. Reverend Franklin S. Spalding, Episcopal Bishop of Utah, saw the situation in 1912. It was in that year that he decided to send copies of the three facsimiles from the Book of Abraham to some of the world's leading scholars of Egyptology, asking each for an independent assessment of Joseph Smith's interpretations.
The eight Egyptologists and Semitists who responded were unanimous in their scathing verdict: "Joseph Smith's interpretation of these cuts is a farrago of nonsense from beginning to end," came the report from the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, which added that "five minutes study in an Egyptian gallery of any museum should be enough to convince any educated man of the clumsiness of the imposture;" "... difficult to deal seriously with Smith's impudent fraud," wrote another from Oxford, England. "Smith has turned the Goddess into a king and Osiris into Abraham." From Chicago, "... very clearly demonstrates that he (Joseph Smith) was totally unacquainted with the significance of these documents and absolutely ignorant of the simplest facts of Egyptian Writing and civilization." And from London, "... the attempts to guess a meaning are too absurd to be noticed. It may be safely said that there is not one single word that is true in these explanations."

From someone who can't just answer a simple question and quote a source, the metric of your scale of intelligence should be gauged by your lack of responses.

Here is a mopo training video for how to deal with the Book of Abraham:

"I have more to boast of than ever any man had. I am the only man that has ever been able to keep a whole church together since the days of Adam. ... Neither Paul, John, Peter, nor Jesus ever did it. I boast that no man ever did such a work as I." - Joseph Smith, 1844

Wisdom Seeker wrote: What significant doctrinal, astronomical or philosophical concepts found in the Book of Abraham are of the most importance to the LDS church?
wenglund wrote:For good reason, the Church hasn't (nor have I for that matter), thought to provide ordinal rankings, in terms of importance and significance, of the multitude of doctrines and precepts in the various scriptures. That isn't how the gospel works or is intended to work.
You are right there is no ordinal ranking of importance or significance in regards to what is found in scritpure. I am just curious as to what may be the most significant or important thing which we can find in that book.
Wisdom Seeker wrote:Certainly with all the tombs found in Egypt, God must of had directed someone to this particular tomb to retrieve it and bring it out of obscurity to his chosen prophet. And if this being the case the actual significance of it must be very great considering the trials placed before the church because of it.
wenglund wrote:This significance is only realized by the individual members of the Church, when the Book of Abraham is rightly viewed and used and analyzed by them in accordance with the intent and purpose of that book of scripture--which has little to nothing to do with Egyptology.
You are right again the significace has little to do with what language it was written in, but by what it contains. All I am trying to do is find out what those plain and precious truths are that are found in that book that would justify God finding the means to deliever it to his Prophet. Yet God did not find the means to make sure all of it was destroyed or taken away by an angel considering all the trouble it is now causing to LDS members who are finding out about the major issues surrounding the translation.
