The OP is an example of a Droopy drive by. It might be long but it is only a lecture and not an invitation to discussion.

This is a "drive-by" post? I see an extended argument and analysis that runs halfway down the page, with a number of serious, interconnected arguments and points articulated in a clear, concise form. You call this a "drive-by" post?

He thinks he can school us.

No, leftists cannot be schooled. The Anointed are already gods; they have already attained philosopher king status and exist only to school - and control the lives and choices - of the lower orders who will not be able to get by without their benevolent ministrations. Joanna Brooks and David Bokovoy are concerned with issues of "social justice." How noble. How lofty. Who could possible disagree or resist?

Might I add that I have hardly seen an argument from Droopy.

Then might I ask that you actually read the OP?

Here is the first argument, or implied argument (a series of propositions with logical implications) in the OP:

As with all philosophies of the Left, this is precisely the effect taking a "subversive" position on LDS teaching is intended to convey. In a postmodern sense, we would be asking whether the Church's "truth" claims have any meaning at all apart from their social construction within the culture within which the Church is embedded.

This is a "rant" Tarski? This is not a calm, reasoned challenge to Brook's position, logically implying other concepts and conclusions?

A nearly perfect description of the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Droop!
You only need replace philosopher with a more appropriate term an you will have it nailed.

Thanks for this, as I can now safely dismiss you out of hand as beyond serious consideration as an interlocutor.

It must be very difficult swimming in depths that are swollen: I mean, for a start one would have to work out what on earth it could mean for a body of water to have that property. I don't see what would be so awful about them being of a degree of salinity intermediate between sea water and fresh water, though.

What would really worry me would be if they were cloudy or hazy due to suspended particles in the water. Fortunately Droopy refrained from saying that Darth J.'s environment had any problem of that kind.

That's the problem with this supernatural stuff, it doesn't really solve anything. It's a placeholder for ignorance.

Turgid: Swollen and distended or congested: "a turgid and fast-moving river".

You are quite welcome Droop. Have you likewise guessed that I had already dismissed you out of hand as the type of interlocutor who is to be taken seriously? Your posts I read strictly for the entertainment value.

Do you remember The New Yorker's old "Block That Metaphor" feature?

You just don't have a sophisticated enough reading ability to appreciate Droopy's penetrating prose.
