I’m just responding to ceeboo and don’t want to derail this thread, but I will comment on your response. Consider living back at the time of Christ and after His crucifixion. The disciples/apostles went out into the world to bring souls to Christ. Not to themselves as His representatives. They weren’t out preaching for vain glory. They were following Christ’s injunction, “ And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”

Do you think that this injunction/command would be any different today? The calling of modern apostles and prophets is to bring souls to Christ.

MG
Actually, it turns out that the calling of modern apostles and prophets is to act as executive-level management of a multi-billion dollar corporation. I'm sure Jesus is gushing with pride.

They see it differently.

I’m sure that for one reason or another some folks disregarded or ridiculed the disciples of Jesus way back when. Why would it be any different today?

All you've done is provide evidence supporting the notion that their words and actions are generally not in alignment. Congrats on that.

Christ warned of false prophets for exactly this reason. Anyone can call themselves a prophet, the test is in the results. We had a surgeon as prophet seer and revelator on earth before Covid and all he did in assisting the world was cancel a couple of his appearances early.

Hi drumdude, I’m not sure exactly where you’re going with this. Care to explain?

We are wandering off topic. My purpose in coming onto this thread was to respond to something ceeboo had said. Not sure if we should continue what is now moving into a derail.

But I am curious what you meant by “this reason”. A prophet throughout the ages has always been one called of God to bring souls to repentance and faith in Christ. One that is called by God’s authority to do so. All I’m saying is that there were many during the time of Christ and shortly thereafter that rejected the apostles who had been tasked to carry His name throughout the world as they knew it.

Why would people today diss the apostles and prophets for doing the same thing?

I would ask the same question of you that I asked of drumdude…”Care to explain?”. If others would prefer this thread go back along the beaten path, just say the word.

]Well, OK.

That’s the world’s response to these men calling themselves apostles, by the way.
