What is poor Gee to do? He's stuck between a rock and a hard place. But he made his bed and he's lying in it.
Dr. Gee's endowed professorship is tied to an ardent defense of the Book of Abraham. I suspect in the future there will be some forfeiture of pensions for professors who express doubts after retirement. While they will not have a squadron of BYU students reporting on them after retirement, the monitoring and surveillance methods of the Homogenizing Church Members Committee are becoming increasingly sophisticated.

Then let him defend the Book of Abraham by starting at square one: 3000 BC in which the First Dynasty commenced and explain how that jives with Smith's 2300 BC biblical timeline quoted in Smith's 1835 & 1844 Doctrine and Covenants and in other early publications approved by President Smith.

I really don't give a damn what Mormons today believe. I'm more concerned with what Joseph Smith believed and said. That's what matters. That's what counts.

Yet for everyday Mormons, what is important are things said by the apologists that help save these members from critical thinking. You on the other hand are a critical thinker who will not be assigned one of the major planets to rule over and populate with a perfected harem. So there.

Everyday stoopid Mormons are brainwashed and deceived by the cunning craftiness of the apologists who maintain the lies of the cult. The current Student Manual of The Book of Abraham in the Pearl of Great Price is proof that the Church is maintaining the coverup and talking out of both sides of its lying mouth.

The Pearl of Great Price Student Manual, 2018 wrote:
Who Is Abraham and When Did He Live?

Adam and Eve and the Fall (approximately 4000 BC), Enoch (approximately 3000 BC), Noah and the Flood (approximately 2400 BC), and the tower of Babel (approximately 2200 BC) preceded Abraham’s time. Abraham, who was born in about 2000 BC, was the father of Isaac and the grandfather of Jacob, whose name was changed to Israel.

The above dating follows suit with biblical chronology endorsed by Smith's published revelations concerning the chronology. How can Egypt be founded prior to 3000 BC if according to the Book of Abraham it was founded by Ham's progeny in 2300 BC?

SNAP!

Slap in the face to John Gee!

There is no way I can engage Shulem over on Discuss Mormonism. He would kick my ass in front of everyone and drill me a new one. I can't go there. No way. He's won the war. All I can do is wait it out and retire with my pension intact.

Couldn't Mormons argue that their scriptures did not take place on this earth, but rather on an earth in a different dimension? With an infinite number of dimensions, all things are possible.

The Mormons deny reality, make up stories, and invent parallels in order to make their Book of Abraham fantasy seem true in their own minds. But we know better, isn't that right Moksha?

1. We know that the first unified government of Egypt was founded in about 3000 BC by king Menes whereby the peoples who inhabited Upper and Lower Egypt for hundreds, even thousands of years, came together under a single banner.

2. We know there is no king's name in Facsimile No. 3 as Joseph Smith claimed to decipher. We know the person as Isis.

3. We know that Anubis on the original papyrus in which Facsimile No. 3 was copied had a jackal nose and was in the presence of the gods assisting the dead in the afterlife of heaven.

Isn't that right, John Gee?

It is so over for the Book of Abraham!

I've read everything you have posted dear Shulem....

Then you must know that in order to get totally clear on the Book of Abraham you must address the most important issue of the Book of Abraham: When and how Egypt was founded! Everything else hangs on those principles. Joseph Smith gave us his version of when and how ancient Egypt was founded and established. But modern Egyptology backed by solid science provides different answers and proves Smith's story was fake news published in 1842.

This must be addressed, otherwise, your whole presentation will remain woefully inadequate. Nonetheless, thank you for your service!

The Backyard Professor has since redeemed himself for the apologetic nonsense he previously produced as an apologist. Here is a collection of YouTube podcasts which refute the apologists including his old self and proves the Book of Abraham is a fraud. Very well done! I strongly recommend that readers of this forum check these out and watch them at their own leisure. You will definitely learn something! Numbers 048 & 051 are a tribute to my own critical work and Kerry presents them in a fun yet serious manner.

You are very kind.

Well, thanks. And it seems that everyone has been far too kind to the likes of John Gee in letting him and his apologetic cohorts get away with bloody murder when it comes to the claims Smith made about how and when Egypt was founded based on Book of Abraham chapter one. There has not been accountability to this measure that I am aware of. And it's frustrating that people on this board just don't get it and realize how important this is in exposing Joseph Smith's text as phony-baloney. I say that because there is a lack of response on this board by people who should know better. So, it's frustrating for me to see this.

I only wish that Radio Free Mormon and John Dehlin had been more knowledgeable on the subject when they interviewed Ritner. They had a golden opportunity and it went by the wayside with regard to the chronology blunder presented by Smith. The focus was mainly on the Facsimiles and translation but believe me the chronology was overlooked and as I recall, Ritner wasn't given the opportunity to rip into that because the hosts were not experts on Egyptian history as it relates to the biblical chronology that was formerly and officially endorsed by Joseph Smith in the scriptures and in other publications. If Ritner had the full story and information with regards to the 2300 BC and 3000 BC he would have blown a gasket and ripped chapter one of the Book of Abraham to shreds! Forget about the stupid sacrifice thing. That is a small issue compared to the chronology!

Anyway, so it seems everyone wants to give John Gee a pass and continue to let the Church get away with bloody murder by not holding their feet to the fire on this account. In my opinion, the critics have dropped the ball. But I've shown you the head of the bloody snake and it needs to be chopped off!
