We whites, most unfortunately have had that horrible attitude for many a century. I came home crying after many of my classes on American Civilization in college when we got to the time where we destroyed the Native Americans. I was horrified and kept crying out to my wife I had three strikes against me.

1. I'm White
2. I'm Male
3. My ancestors are murderers

It took me a long time to almost get over that traumatic semester. I'm not sure it's even possible to do so.

My Lord the Midge’s level of self-delusion is off the charts when he invited Dr. LOD to lunch:

Louis “I openly admit I keep creepy files on people” Midgley > Unconvinced 18 hours ago

Everyone should have been able to observe what happened when Dr. VelhoBurrinho launched his absurd opinions about my relationship with faithful Maori Latter-day Saints. And having embarrassed himself in public, he has, unfortunately, not been able to back away from his odd behavior. And posting his remarks on Dan's blog has made backing away in public made virtually impossible, has it not?

I am quite confident that if we could go to lunch much of the rancor would melt away.

Could you imagine how much personal information he would gleefully abuse from a lunch with someone who he’s badmouthed for months? It’s the oddest thing to see how disconnected Mopologists are from their behaviors. They’re completely divorced from reality.

Dr. VelhoBurrinho politely declined for obvious reasons, and in response, of course, Midgley was Midgley.

No Professor, you are projecting. Time to put it away.

Sorry no lunch, you know the parable about “the girl and the snake?”

Anyway my opinion wouldn’t change over lunch. But I will send you a gift certificate so you and dan can go get a bite.

The only possible reason for Dr. VelhoBurrinho to mention that Swedish folk tale would by to claim that, though he looks and acts like a real snake, he is really wonderful--simply out of this world.

Talk about missing the point by a mile!

Dr. Lod, you have single handedly shined a spectacularly bright spotlight on the ultimate problem of Mormon apologetics and their apologists. There are no possible words to thank you, other than thank you!

Thank you, that certainly wasn't a thought at the beginning when I first critiqued his DNA apologetics, and later his articles in the Interpreter. But most of the praise should go to Professor Midgley himself.

Absolutely true. Another poster who hasn’t commented for a while used to worry about those he called “the lurkers.” He felt they might be influenced by what they read here, so he frequently spoke directly to them, explaining some apologist viewpoint.

The irony is that if there really are lurkers like that reading here, Midgley has given them an excellent view into the mopologist mind. For example, here is his explanation of why those who disagree with him must be named something other than “human,” because even Hitler was that:

Louis Midgley BLarsen 2 days ago

Keep in mind that what you see as "name calling" is actually truth-telling.

And in any case accurately indicating that one is playing the dunce, which annoys some deeply into Sloppy Agape, can easily be avoided by picking a slightly different descriptive adjective.

What word would you suggest I substitute for dunce? You must, however, pick an adjective other than "human being" or "child of God." Both Hitler, and everyone else, fits snugly into those categories.

https://www.patheos.com/blogs/danpeters ... 4776240013

If one of my little brothers had tried that excuse on my Mom when she caught them calling someone a poopy-head, even if that someone was one of the very few non-lds children in our neighborhood, there would have been serious consequences. Midgley clearly didn’t learn this childhood lesson. He needs a time-out. Or a nap.

(And Sloppy Agape? Another one I had to look up. Spit-or-swallow-Midgley has truly expanded my vocabulary this year. Not that I can use any of his favorite expressions in civilized conversation without a very long explanation. )
