I loved the post from lifeonaplate on MA&D asking for responses on certain questions and later posting on another thread that the responses never really came. LOL, that's because those who would likely respond were banned. If I recall correctly, you have Wade seeking to foster dialogue between critics and the MA&D people. I thought to myself. Would he go over to China and say I want people that believe in democracy to come out in the streets and talk about it.

Yet...people have come out to talk with me in that "street", and as a result, I have developed some new friendships.

Most people that want dialogue there end up in some form of re-education camp or are watched like a hawk. I wonder why anyone who seeks truth, goodness and beauty in life would go to that camp.

absolutely! you likely know more spots than I do but I can make an assessment too; those that silence critical thought seek power or try to remain in power, they don't seek truth, goodness or beauty. And why do you hang with a crowd that silences critical thought. I saw MMS take beatings on sincere questions. Selek and Pahoran are just thugs for Denial Peterson and his FAIR family. Denial is the big boss.

If you are of the mind to complain about MA&D and DCP, then I know of no better place on the net than this to do so. In fact, these topics are perhaps the two most popular discussed here, followed closely by disdain for Juliann and perhaps Charity, if not also loss of faith due to Church history (which I noticed you also recently openned a thread thereon). You are absolutely free here to dwell as much and as long on these things as your heart desires, and you can get as angry and disdainful as you need and it will be empathized with and welcomed. And, if you are partial to dropping the F-bomb and using other vulgar terms (though trasparently disguised with **** and _____), you will fit right in. I trust that your experience here will be far more mutually suitable and rewarding than your brief experience at MA&D. I wish I could say the same for myself, but alas, I am differently disposed.

I've witnessed vulgarity on MAD. Ugliness manifested that need not be uttered with curses. The sentiment was extremely vulgar.

I found that silencing of critical thought can come in many forms--some less obvious than others. One of the less obvious is putting those with opposing views in tiny, pejoritive boxes at which to lob insults and harsh criticism from the distance of one's own safe harbor, and at times under the cloak of anonymity. In such cases, dismissiveness and stereotyping are "the big boss"--not that this may apply in the least to you or anyone else here.

Not wishing to point fingers, but I think we all are better served the less vulgarity and ugliness there is whereever. But, that may just be my own personal preference. We all are free to carve out and habitate the nitches that best suit us.

Have you considered that you are looking at the boards with a preference brought about from your own loyalty to your team?

Surely you recognize that vulgarity does not require curses?

Certainly it's a bit "rawer" here. Yet hate fluffed under pretty words is no less hateful.

I've said before that the hatred on some other boards, although couched in less vulgar language, is far more visceral and cruel than anything I've seen here.
