Glad you're not going to let one jackass poster drive you away. Welcome back to Gryffindor.

Speaking of jackass posters, has anyone seen Will lately? :)

OK, Runtu,
I owe you a personal/public apology.
I didn't know you had a mental illness.
We all have enough challenges in life w'out these problems
anyways.
Most of us liked your company here.
I wish you well.

Runtu wrote:OK, I admit it. One rather mean-spirited and moronic poster got to me. It could be that I haven't slept in two days, or it could just be that I'm tired of self-righteous and smug people who don't give a damn about their fellow human beings. It doesn't matter. I've been thinking about this all day; I've been involved in good and productive and civil conversations with Mormons and ex-Mormons, critics and apologists for thirteen years, since I first started posting as an apologist on a.r.m. in 1995. No sniveling weasel who doesn't know me from Adam is going to ruin that for me.

You can call me all the names you want: evil, anti-Mormon, pussy, whatever. I don't care. I won't return the favor, but you're sure as hell not going to drive me away from my friends.

This is the post I wanted to read. Runtu I love ya man. You are the King of Parody. I too have friends here, the greatest majority I have never met personally. I wish that part could be different. This board is my escape from some of life.

I have been pissed off too at posters and I have taken breaks. I have to take frequent breaks for physical and mental reasons. I can't compete with the majority here. I can't type very long with out cramping my hands up. So I am more of a one-liner, drive by poster. I many times would like to post a decent reply and participate in greater length but am physically unable to. I have a rare adrenal gland disease that keeps my K and Na out of balance. I usually have a constant migraine like headache and muscle aches and cramps that are like charlie horses. This imbalance effects me mentally too. I was extremely ill before I was diagnosed. I can't type for very long with out my fingers, hands, and arms getting charlies. I do better with primitive implements like a shovel or a hammer but still I don't last very long. Delicate work is out and posting here, joke joke, is delicate work.

I hope you continue to post here, Runtu, though I post and respond infrequently I am a avid reader and thinker and fan.
I think it would be morally right to lie about your religion to edit the article favorably.

Have you looked into text to speech programs as well as speech driven computers? I know some versions of Windows Vista let you use your computer entirely with your voice.
That's General Leo. He could be my friend if he weren't my enemy.

Blixa wrote:I have no idea why Gaz would make that remark about me. I teach Gay and Lesbian Literature courses, for God’s sake. I’ve been the faculty advisor of many gay and lesbian student organizations, most of my friends are gay men, I belong to many gay activist groups and support others, I’ve marched the marches, been gay bashed and spit on, I’m all about the gays. I basically grew up in Salt Lake gay bars. I learned the most important lessons about gender from the example of Candy Darling and other transsexuals (that its all just performance). I’m the kind of person he doesn’t want; he should just consider me a gay man and be done with it.

Well, Blixa, as a patron of the arts, I'm right there with ya! LOL

One of my voice students, who also happens to be one of my very best friends, is gay. He literally saved my life a few years ago when I was on the brink of a severe depression; he is one of the dearest men I know, and also an extremely talented singer/actor.

I like Gaz, but his views on homosexuals go against the grain of everything I personally stand for and feel is important, namely freedom of expression and choice.

Discrimination is wrong. Period. And it is someone who professes to believe in the gospel of Jesus Christ should stay starkly away from, in my opinion.

What a second. What's the point of marching in a gay pride parade if one is not gay oneself?

I basically grew up in Salt Lake gay bars.

I thought you had to be 21 before you could get into a bar. At what age did the gay bars begin allowing you in?

I don't think that Blixa marching in a gay pride parade is unusual. She is supporting friends she cares about, and taking a stand against discrmination. Just because she is straight doesn't mean that these things can't be important to her.

So the gays don't get mad if a non-gay interloper tries to "crash the party?"
