Re: MAD un-bans posters!
I think they, perhaps unintentionally, unbanned the most conditionable banned posters.
If MAD was looking for aggressive posters, this was a mistake. in my opinion, it reminds me of people sticking their toes in the water to determine how cold it it is, and then choosing to wade in, instead of diving.

I'm curious about this, myself. What did you do, Brack?
Hello Ray A And Liz,
I got Banned from the MA&D Message Board on November 5th, 2006. A few other Posters also got Banned with me on that date there. I am thinking that it had Mainly and mostly to do with my opinions against Polygamy, that got me Banned there.

Teachable, correctable.... at least in a behavioral sense. In retrospect, I should have selected a verb that wasn't so inflammatory sounding. I posted that last night, and went back to edit it this am, but apparently your edit function only lasts so long here.
But what I meant was, well I see where they have unbanned some very knowledgeable and articulate critics, yourself included. I suppose in all fairness to the mods at MAD, this was a benevolent act, but I hypothesize that this may have been an attempt to equally draw more responses from the noted apologists who post there as well. And as far as criticism goes, there have only been a small handful of good critics on the board lately... Ck comes to mind and a few others. In short, you can't play ball unless you have another team.
I suppose I was expecting to see these critics return with their previous 'spirited criticism' intact. However, it appears they are sort of easing back into the situation. Now this is just the appearance of it, its quite plausible there are dozens of explanations... the most likely alternative would be a general lack of concern or better things to do.

Now this is just the appearance of it, its quite plausible there are dozens of explanations... the most likely alternative would be a general lack of concern or better things to do.
So... what can we glean from this post? Some insight, perhaps?
1. MAD only wants knowledgeable and articulate critics in order to feed the noted apologists.
2. MAD is willing to use the knowledgeable and articulate critics in order to keep the noted apologists happy (and posting).
3. MAD only wants critics who have in the past given "spirited" criticism, as opposed to the lack of spirited criticism they now have.
4. MAD is benevolent. (pardon me while I gag).
And what can we ascertain from these insights? That MAD is becoming a dull and boring place? That MAD is tired of the continual Sacrament Meeting atmosphere and wants the "spirit" to return? That the now unbanned critics aren't returning or at least aren't returning fast enough? That the now unbanned knowledgeable and articulate critics are no longer satisfied with being the sacrificial lambs on the altar of the noted apologists' egos? Or... that MAD sees all these great discussions happening here, on MDB, and is green with envy, and hopes to tempt some of our interesting posters, some of which were unfairly and summarily banned from MAD, to return, thereby trying once again to shamelessly manipulate the patrons of this board?

Psst. Undercover Bond... why would you want to go to a place where the wicked witch of the west could have you in her power again?

Comparing the WWotW to Juliann has to be insulting to her Wickedness, and I'm not talking to Juliann.

You will be, if you venture onto MAD. Every word every poster says goes through Juliann, at MAD.
