Runtu, it's all for the glory of God. His work must roll forth and if you get destroyed in the process too bad. You are a "nothing person." The Church must be protected at all costs even if it means crushing you and your family. A little collateral damage is a small price to pay to save so many souls. [/sarcasm]
I second what Trevor said. When I first showed up on MAD, I viewed most apostates as truly despicable human beings. You're decency immediately caused some cog dis. I quickly realized that many apostates remain good decent people after leaving the church.

Re: FAIR goes too far.
Will assures me he didn't send the threats to my wife or make the threatening comments on my blog. I have to take him at his word. I hope, however, that people understand why I associated those threats with him. At that time, Will was doing his usual condemning of me as an irredeemable apostate, and Wheat was making threats to me in private and in blog comments (many of which I declined to publish, though maybe I should have). At the same time someone else was sending emails to my wife saying that I was a dangerous and disturbed person and that, if my wife did not involve the police and church authorities, the sender would do "whatever is necessary" to stop me.
I don't think it's paranoid to determine whether there was a connection. If Will says he didn't do that, I will take him at his word. Enough said.

but I think that Dr. Shades caught my first thought from the OP.....it's all about Will's support. Is it the money, has be been buying his way "in"? After all you can buy anything in this Mormon world with money. Or is it that someone within the FAIR MAD boards influenced by the CoB found some integrity and honesty and finally realized that Will was just a foul mouthed imbecile and they couldn't stand anymore? Or maybe they realized that his Book of Abraham epiphany is all smoke and mirrors with a lot of BS?
I think it is a combination of the three.
I agree. Will is a runner. ever since i have known him he has run from job to job, place to place. he hates anyone in power, except himself. he despises anyone who went to college, because he is threatened by his lack of formal education. he got caught one too many times disparinging people, twisting the truth, etc... on these boards. I find it hard to believe that the Mormon religion, with all of their resources and money, would allow a simpleton like schryver have any impact on the study of the Book of Abraham. will has never been a person that will "follow through" on an assignment, and i am assuming, that the powers to be go sick of his "slight of hand" tricks regarding the Book of Abraham? i say this because i have never known him to back down either, so him bowing out of these discussions is just another of wills many deceptions. i will guaranteee he is/has logged on as someone else already.

I'm curious. How do you know Will? Are you personally acquainted with him, or do you simply know him from the boards? You mentioned that he runs from job to job. Are you saying that you are aware of his work habits from a real world job perspective?

I absolutely know will and have worked with him in both utah and arizona. don't get me wrong, he is a "smart" person. his intelligence and way of speaking, make him an interesting person(as you have seen in his postings) i reviewed his postings and after reading him rip one person after another on how dumb they were, how they didn't really have concerns witht he church becaue they were "lost" already, how everyone who questioned any doctrine was an apostate, etc..etc..etc.. i finally decided to chime in. i do not have a personal relationship with him anymore because he deceived me as well(I have forgotten about that over the years and hold no ill feeelins towards willbilly) i do however, despise hypocrisy! i could no longer watch him take his shots at people on this board, and others, without chiming in with my personal experiences.

I'm sorry you and your email account are being abused. Runtu. I know it's a pain, but it may be worth it to close that account and open another one elsewhere. That way, if they want to threaten or abuse you, they have to do it to your face, since you've closed their previous avenue.
You must be really important to someone, for them to feel so ornery about your decision to leave that they abuse you this way. Truly, with friends like those you don't need any enemies.

(Nevo, Jan 23) And the Melchizedek Priesthood may not have been restored until the summer of 1830, several months after the organization of the Church.

My wife changed her email after that, but after that happened, she didn't feel safe. I don't blame her. With me, it was mostly comments on my blogs and some rather nasty PMs and posts here and on MADB. It's not exactly a time I want to remember.

I'm nobody. Really. But I'm glad I have some good friends elsewhere. I'm sure some people will never believe that this happened to me. But that's OK. My wife and I know what happened.

Runtu,
Maybe the scum bag that threatened you would chose another foe; let him take me on!

I hadn't thought about it in a good while, until Scratch brought it up. I'd prefer not to think about it again.
