No,that's not reasonable, but I bet there are a lot of posters on this board who wished that the moderators at MADB would have allowed them to defend themselves, at least in PM's.
I think you need to recognize that I'm not speaking in generalities. I'm referring to a specific case. Jersey Girl was permanently banned from this board--I think only one other person has been banned so that's a pretty big deal--this board started out with a no banning policy. Jersey Girl was accused of trying to sue Shades and destroy his livelihood, harm his family-- not just bring the board down. She strongly disputes this claim and he continues to put this forward when he writes posts to justify her permanent banishment. Without the opportunity to defend herself against his claims, newbies are indoctrinated into the belief that she's some kind of dangerous psycho.
I know Jersey Girl, she's been on this board and MADB as long as I have--I post with her on another board and considering Shades' claims, you'd think no one would dare have her on their board, but the fact is, too many others don't see her as the threat Shades claimed she is.
I think the accusations against her are serious and when he resurrects them, and she has no way to respond and challenge them, it's pretty unfair. The way I see it, he has two options. He could unbann her or he can choose to not discuss the particulars of her banning on the public board. It's his call.
So, should we allow Derrick back to put his case forward?
If Derrick complained that people were maligning him on this board, it would be best not to discuss him, in my opinion.
