So you're saving it in the hope that it will "kill more testimonies"?

When and where was your testimony summarily executed?

How do you explain that Quinn himself survived all of this, yet you crumble to pieces at the first ripple.

Ray, tell me which specific drop of water is the one that's going to take out this town:

You again? You're an anti-Mormon with zero credibility in my eyes.

Next question from someone with more credibility.

What if was a space alien, Ray? Then would you believe in me?

Ha Ha, Funny.

You're out of the ballpark, Darth.

Irrelevant.

It's quite easy to explain actually if you've ever listened to Quinn talk about his faith and why he holds the position that he does. However Quinn's faith is based on experiences from his life that he feels reflect his relationship with God. That is personal to him, but at least he's willing to acknowledge the difficult aspects of Mormon history without whitewashing and look at how the LDS Church and the mopologists treated him.

So am I. I'll point them out daily, if necessary, but they don't lessen my own "spiritual experiences" with Mormonism. Brian Hale is spectacularly wrong on a number of points, in my opinion, and there is a lot of "I hope someone else will do some more research". Is that Mormonism's death knell? Some will live in hope, I suppose.

Hasa Diga Eebowai wrote:I don't see how that reflects on anyone else's conclusions though Ray. I really don't get the point you were trying to make.

I suppose if Quinn never had any spiritual experiences - he would have been the typical anti-Mormon waffling on about "empiricism", like a Dawkins Dupe.

But he knows better.

Perhaps he just isn't up to speed on the science on religious experience and the brain. Are you?

That's your interpretation, because it suits your worldview.

No scientist alive, anywhere today, has ever conclusively proven that God can be reduced solely to "brain functions", or a "God spot". NONE.

Distinct 'God Spot' in the Brain Does Not Exist, Study Shows.

Theoretically, if brain functions respond in a certain way, or has "spiritual experiences", that doesn't mean they originate entirely in the brain. The human body is like a computer, and it's designed to heal or ward off diseases, but not always successfully. It's "programmed", but programming doesn't always ensure perfection.

Beyond this mechanism which we call "the body", or the imperfect body, may be a spirit which is not quantifiable by "empiricism".

What triggers NDEs? It could be "all in the brain", but the fact that people have been certified brain dead, yet had "spiritual experiences" while being "brain dead", raises some ponderable questions.
