Like this you mean.

1) Maxrep made two posts and then the thread was closed by a moderator. His were the two posts, not mine.
2) As the thread originator, I reopened the thread to post material I had already started gathering the previous day. I made one post, although it was a fairly (but not unusually) long one. Just one. Did you get it that time?
3) My post largely ignored Maxrep's personal jabs, which I suspect had something to do with why the thread was closed in the first place, and focused upon the provenance of the spurious Kimball quote.
4) Then I reclosed the thread, rather than leaving it dangling open to annoy the mods.
5) The post is still there for anyone who wants to see it.

Any questions?

Now, just to see how well you paid attention: how many posts did I make after the thread was originally locked, cwald?

Regards,
Pahoran

What a douche bag.

Maxrep wrote:Heber likely mentioned the harvesting of new women to be brought back to zion on a number of occasions.

Call for references, please.

Maxrep wrote:No small issue when a polygamist community dries up the resource that defines polygamy(women).

Mere assumption. This has no probative value at all.

Maxrep wrote:The NYTimes put their reputation on the line likely for a source that desired anonymity.

And their reputation was perfectly safe, wasn't it? Most of their readership were completely uninformed about Mormons; they believed only what they read in the papers; and they were disposed, if not downright eager, to believe the worst, and the juicier, the better.

In other words, they were almost as bigoted as you.

Maxrep wrote:It is completely reasonable that the issue of missionaries picking out the more fair virgins before their arrival in the valley was addressed many different times.

In other words, you are assuming, as usual. Call for references, please; what reliable sources support the quote you know to be bogus?

Maxrep wrote:It is also completely reasonable that a frustrated Heber was more blundt at times than others.

Maxrep wrote:I will also provide some additional Heber quotes, as well as quotes from other church leaders, that show there is absolutely nothing out of the ordinary or fantastic with regards to this particular quote.

In other words, you can't support that one, so you're going to try a distraction game.

I'd love to see you try Ann Eliza's "buying a cow" libel.

Here you see a classic example of how apologists at MAD work. They get up on their high horse as superiors, then they completely try to derail the thread with ridicules CFRs, using classic lawyer logic, that one can't use any kind of common sense reasonable deductive logic in the discussion, and you must provide absolute evidence of the truth of your claim, or it is invalid...oh the irony...coming from a group that is in the tenuous position of trying to defend the LDS church.

BUT, then, when they are giving facts and quotes and scientific knowledge, they either out right deny it, or they try to do mental gymnastics to make it fit their paradigm...and they almost always resort to mocking the poster rather than addressing the issue...and they have the balls to call those that disagree with them apostate, wolf in sheep clothing, Korihors.

Classic.

I'm sure Pohoran will call for CFR for this post as well.

A good example is my previous post where Pahoran called for reference about him claiming the thread was closed because of Maxrep insults towards him. I quoted him saying just that. Let's see how he apoligizes his way out that mess.

1. He will mock me, the poster who provided the facts.
2. He will do some mental gymnastics saying that I took him out of context or something.
3. He will call for a CFR or something again.
4. He will close the thread and I will get banned.
5. He will reopen the thread, put up JUST ONE more faith promoting post, and then close it again so no else can respond to it.

Oh wait. I forgot. This board is all about having a fair playing field, and it is more interested in the truth, rather than defending the organization. My bad.

Why? Because you don't use profanity? What a hilariously juvenile point of view you have. Other than Selek, you are easily the most hateful person I have ever seen on a message board, including places like 4chan and reddit. You're an internet tough guy cliché come to life.

Also interesting how Pahoran would never dream of talking to people this way in real life. He would get his block knocked off.

How much more pitiful can his life get?

Joseph Smith once said that Mormonism makes bad men good and good men better. Sadly, it turns some good men into assholes.

What a douche bag.
Pahoran, its almost as if you have message board turrets syndrome. Everyone else notes your behavior, and you are out to lunch.

The thread was locked when I reported your personal insults.

Turrets syndrome?

Is that when a poster starts to resemble a tank?

That's funny!!

In any case, I didn't say what you attributed to me. My view is and was that the thread was probably locked because it was becoming too personal. Which is why, when I reopened it, I ignored your personal jabs and focused on questions of substance.

Anyone reading the thread and knowing that you, of all people, complained of "personal insults," would wonder about your apparent lack of any sense of irony.

What a [cwald's face].

Hey cwald: when you've graduated from the kind of filth that is all you and your fellow-haters comprehend, to learning how to communicate in English, you may come to understand that "personal jabs... had something to do with why the thread was closed" is not synonymous with "Maxrep was insulting me."
