that's not the point. The bedrock faithful take pride in the membership numbers. If the big push during the eighties was an Enron-esque faith promototion tool then the follower must revert back to previous, less recent crutches.
This is about the stalwart and they can't take this lie back. Liars structure a lie to support themselves. These lies of giant conversion stories in Latin America, places the prophets PREDICTED would "hear the voice of the Gospel" once again due to Book of Mormon backstory.
