Excellent.
Yes, and this is called argumentum ad populorum. I'm sure you will recall that "everyone" once believed the world was flat.
Well, I guesst he reason you and I now believe the world is round is because of argumentum ad populorum as well. (Or not. Your plagiarism case is faulty for several reasons, as most people here have realized.)
No, the only reasons people have stated are:
1. They like Kerry, and think that he is a lovable doofus who makes mistakes, and that said mistakes should be allowed to slide.
2. The plagiarism occurred on a messageboard, which is informal, and therefore the standards of plagiarism should be more lax.
None of these really addresses whether or not any "plagiarism" actually occurred, however. In fact, a bit of unintentional plagiarism *did* occur, as is supported by my citation of the MLA Handbook. Call it a small matter all you want, LoaP. None of this changes that fact that it was, indeed, "plagiarism."
by the way, LoaP: I'm still waiting for you to supply a source that states that failure to properly cite and punctuate your sources is A-okay.
(edit: The reason you I and believe the world is round is because <drum roll> it *is* round.)
