And my response (bold mine):

Other researchers have taken different approaches, but have similarly failed to find a connection between homosexuality and child molestation. Dr. Carole Jenny and her colleagues reviewed 352 medical charts, representing all of the sexually abused children seen in the emergency room or child abuse clinic of a Denver children's hospital during a one-year period (from July 1, 1991 to June 30, 1992). The molester was a gay or lesbian adult in fewer than 1% in which an adult molester could be identified – only 2 of the 269 cases (Jenny et al., 1994).
In yet another approach to studying adult sexual attraction to children, some Canadian researchers observed how homosexual and heterosexual adult men responded to slides of males and females of various ages (child, pubescent, and mature adult). All of the research subjects were first screened to ensure that they preferred physically mature sexual partners. In some of the slides shown to subjects, the model was clothed; in others, he or she was nude. The slides were accompanied by audio recordings. The recordings paired with the nude models described an imaginary sexual interaction between the model and the subject. The recordings paired with the pictures of clothed models described the model engaging in neutral activities (e.g., swimming). To measure sexual arousal, changes in the subjects' penis volume were monitored while they watched the slides and listened to the audiotapes. The researchers found that homosexual males responded no more to male children than heterosexual males responded to female children (Freund et al., 1989).

Science cannot prove a negative. Thus, these studies do not prove that homosexual or bisexual males are no more likely than heterosexual males to molest children. However, each of them failed to prove the alternative hypothesis that homosexual males are more likely than heterosexual men to molest children or to be sexually attracted to children or adolescents.

This came from an article at this link:

The right to marry was deemed a fundamental consitutional right long ago, and, of course, equal protection under the law has been around even longer.

Where in the constitution is the right outlined? Or what SC decision discusses this?

The Loving v. Virginia decision discusses this:

"Marriage is one of the "basic civil rights of man," fundamental to our very existence and survival.... To deny this fundamental freedom on so unsupportable a basis as the racial classifications embodied in these statutes, classifications so directly subversive of the principle of equality at the heart of the Fourteenth Amendment, is surely to deprive all the State's citizens of liberty without due process of law. The Fourteenth Amendment requires that the freedom of choice to marry not be restricted by invidious racial discrimination. Under our Constitution, the freedom to marry, or not marry, a person of another race resides with the individual and cannot be infringed by the State."

And incidentally, even being convicted of a capitol offense cannot deprive you of this "basic civil right" though it can deprive you of another basic right of citizenship, the right to vote. So, prisoners on death row may marry, gay and lesbian couples may not marry (except in Mass. and CA.)

You're attempting to say that statistically homosexuals commit more sexually deviant crimes per their demographic than heterosexuals. However, heterosexuals far outpace their homosexual counterparts when it comes to sexual crimes, in totality. For example, 33% of females will be sexually assaulted during her lifetime, and this is just one aspect of a sexually deviant behavior perpetrated by heterosexuals toward others.

Okay, that doesn't show that heterosexuals are more likely to be involved in rape. 33% of females reported sexual assault (we need to filter out lesbian assault here). What percentage of males report getting sexually assaulted by males? Then we need to figure out if prison rape counts. Then since there are roughly fifteen to twenty times more heterosexual men then homosexual we need to see if the numbers work out. Assuming that the number of lesbian rapes is small and inconsequential we should expect to see that 1-2% of males would report a sexual assault from another male. I can't find any reliable numbers though. Have you found any?

Incidentally I find all homosexuality deviant but in this instance I'm referring to crimes.

With all due respect, you wouldn't know reason if it had gay sex with you.

Therefore, since we all know that homosexual behavior is dangerous to life and health, is it good to discriminate against such behavior.

You're an ugly homophobe who has no idea what you're talking about.

I think Nehor's going down the wrong path with his statistics. I haven't seen the church bring disease or abuse up as reason to oppose homosexual marriage and so I suspect that whether or not there are no problems in that area, the church would still oppose homosexual marriage.

I agree with that. If I find all the statistics I shared wrong it will not change my mind.

What would you do if the Mormon church receives a revelation that homosexuality is now acceptable, and that homosexuals should reveal full rights in your church? Think of this along the lines of the 1978 revelation...

Ask God to explain how this concept can be worked in with the concept of eternal marriage.
