And what can we ascertain from these insights? That MAD is becoming a dull and boring place? That MAD is tired of the continual Sacrament Meeting atmosphere and wants the "spirit" to return? That the now unbanned critics aren't returning or at least aren't returning fast enough? That the now unbanned knowledgeable and articulate critics are no longer satisfied with being the sacrificial lambs on the altar of the noted apologists' egos? Or... that MAD sees all these great discussions happening here, on MDB, and is green with envy, and hopes to tempt some of our interesting posters, some of which were unfairly and summarily banned from MAD, to return, thereby trying once again to shamelessly manipulate the patrons of this board?

Very insightful post.

Wait...Bond...you're banned again? I thought you had Juliann wrapped around your little finger with your boyish charm. No?

It's not banned. It's like what happened to the The Dude. I try to post and it goes to an error message. SO basically, banned.

Not at all, Crock. You described my post, not my person. Insulting a post is fine; insulting the individual is not.

Hi Harmony,
harmony wrote:So... what can we glean from this post? Some insight, perhaps?

1. MAD only wants knowledgeable and articulate critics in order to feed the noted apologists.

2. MAD is willing to use the knowledgeable and articulate critics in order to keep the noted apologists happy (and posting).

3. MAD only wants critics who have in the past given "spirited" criticism, as opposed to the lack of spirited criticism they now have.

4. MAD is benevolent. (pardon me while I gag).

You know I don't believe I have ever been more misinterpreted of miscontextualized than in these conclusion you gleaned from my statement. You should congratulate yourself.

I do feel one good turn deserves another.
What can I glean from this statement?
MDB, is fearful that they will loose patronage to MAD and become a dull and boring discussion board.

Which, in my opinion is more likely closer to truth than your distortions of my statements.

What can I say? Modesty requires that I acknowledge that it's a gift.

Silly lion. That's what MAD already believes. Pardoning the exiled won't make any difference.

Ever heard of satire, cat? Better break out your English lit... Jonathon Swift is a good place to start, but you do have to know something about the politics of the time... or the place, as the case may be.

It seems a bit arbitrary, in my opinion. My guess is that someone caught a mod on a "good day" and succeeded through pleading, taking what they could get. For example, when I got suspended from the board a few well worded emails to mods had me back a day early.

Well, but you're an apologist. You play by a different set of rules.

Sethbag had a well worded e-mail here pleading his case which did him no good.

Can't win them all, I guess.
