"if there were a modern prophet of God in the world today, would you want to know what he says"?

As I understand it, it wasn't that the prophet didn't ask, or that God didn't answer. It was that a majority of the Brethren didn't agree. Amazing how mere men can block God's will from happening.
(Nevo, Jan 23) And the Melchizedek Priesthood may not have been restored until the summer of 1830, several months after the organization of the Church.

I think you misread what I said. I disagree with your premises.

They were your premises - either that the prophet didn't bother to ask, or God didn't bother to answer.

Of course, you were only "joking", I suppose.

Which prophet are you referring to?
We hate to seem like we don’t trust every nut with a story, but there’s evidence we can point to, and dance while shouting taunting phrases.

No, those are your premises. Mine were that sometimes Prophets don't ask due to not knowing the question or not realizing there is a question and sometimes God chooses not to answer some questions with the information we desire. The 'not bothering' thing implies a great deal of laziness that I don't concede.

So Joseph Smith didn't know to ask "can African Americans hold the priesthood"?

What happened to good ole' inspiration?

I disagree. Most prophets are really lazy. They walk around in robes and sandals and talk about god and damnation and repentance and stuff, but they don't do much manual labor or any real meaningful work at all. They talk a lot and prophesy and have dreams, but how much energy does that take? Really, they're about as useful to society as bums.

They aren't that way now and they weren't that way in the past. Nice caricature formed from bad TV specials though. I prefer to read scripture to find out about Prophets.

Then you prefer to read bald-faced lies. My description of prophets is true. The Holy Ghost confirmed it to me last night. Nice try on your rebuttal, though. Keep it up.

I'm not sure they do any less than other people their age, or politicians for that matter.

Congrats on your willful ignorance. Bye.

Awwww, Nehor. I was just having fun throwing around some evidence-less assertions. Just playing your game. Sorry you didn't like it. Peace, brother.
