Again, the point is not that you choose one or the other... The idea is that 1 and 2 both explain all possible evidence, equally well.

I suspect you still find the Devil unable to account for anything because you're still considering 2 from the perspective of 1. You don't understand that if 2 were true, any evidence which appeared to suggest that the Devil wasn't in charge would be a magic lie or man's misinterpretation. The Devil works in mysterious ways but it will always be according to His plan. We can never fully understand. Sound familiar?
