There seems to be the rub of this whole episode, doesn't it?

On what basis does Pahoran assert the chino blanco = Dr Scratch theory? But more troubling for me is whether rational people like liz took it on Pahoran's "word" without needing to know of any supporting facts for that theory of Pahoran's? And why would they do so?

Not only did they accept the theory, but they ran with it on the board, contrary to the rule against doing so.

They really dislike Scratch, in part perhaps because of their liking for poor persecuted DCP, who is Their Friend. They would love to see Scratch outed and silenced, and they were eager to believe that at last they had the information needed to do that. In the incident we are talking about, one of them. even though she was a mod, could just not resist the temptation to taunt Scratch with what was in effect a "See, We Know Who You Are in real life" post, contrary to Board rules.

And the rest followed.

Believe it or not, we have more worthwhile things to talk about on my board....which is precisely why I will be spending more time there. I'm sure that you will be relieved.

Never happened. I was a member of Liz's forum until October 24th when I deleted my account. Pahoran and Liz were dropping hints of the Scratch = Chino Blanco theory on this forum before anything was ever said on her forum (and, in fact, long before Pahoran was invited to her forum).
