Given the torpedo example is a usual example from critics, and given every last drop of Late War 'scholarship' from apologists is a response to critics, then if it's so preposterous, for that very reason, the form-function argument would be the first objection on the list.

Dr. Cam and Physics Guy might continue to try to explain your misunderstanding, deliberate or not, but I predict they will make no progress.
We can't take farmers and take all their people and send them back because they don't have maybe what they're supposed to have. They get rid of some of the people who have been there for 25 years and they work great and then you throw them out and they're replaced by criminals.
