I knew that there were lively discussions, and that DCP was causing an uproar among some of the members. However, the members he was conversing with seemed to be holding their own. I didn't realize that some of the folks were so upset about it that they wanted it stopped by outside means.

I really do wish they had at least come to me and given me a heads up. As the founder of the board, and as the person who invited them to the board to begin with, I think they at least owed me that. And yes, right or wrong, I do take that personally.

I should have at least been given an opportunity to try to straighten things out. If it didn't work, then maybe I would have given the information to you myself, or opened the board up? Who knows?

But it's sad that I wasn't respected enough to at least be given that opportunity.

Live and learn.

As I've tried to convey to you (along with several of your friends on this thread), the tragic flaw with your board was the fact that you invited an obsessive, mammoth-ego'ed freak who just can't get along with others online. I mean, think about it: if you kicked off all 6-7 of the people who were "moles," what would that have done to your community? It was nothing personal against you; it's just that Dan Peterson has created so many enemies over the years, and people are so fed up with his crap that they are inclined to talk and to dissect his more embarrassing moments. I guess you could have said, "Don't tell Scratch that Dan is acting like an ass again," but as I'm sure you realize, that probably wouldn't have accomplished much. At least one of the folks was practically begging me to launch threads about his antics. And as is probably fairly obvious, it would have put you in an uncomfortable position if folks had demanded that you rein him in. Even if you had tried to intervene, do you think The Kingpin would have done your bidding?

On a side note: some of the most classic moments were when people would extend the olive branch, and he'd lean back, lacing his fingers across his ample belly, only to say, "Very impressive. I appreciate that." Zero reciprocation; just more condescension. Lol.

Who are these 6 or 7 posters, Scratch? Liz, has dropped it but I'm quite intrigued.

I don't expect Scratch to reveal that, Stem. I really don't.

If, however, any of these 6 or 7 posters came to me privately and at least explained why they did what they did, I would honestly appreciate it, and would not hold it against them.

So here's a question - why was DCP on a NOM board in the first place? Does he consider himself a NOM?

In keeping with Jason Bourne's wishes that this thread go to 40. :-)

Liz,

I agree that it would have been more constructive had the person or persons talked to you directly, but maybe they felt exasperated or disgusted in the sense of "God, does he never stop this crap?" sort of like I expressed in different words on there, so they reached for the copy/paste (snatch it up and expose it) button? People handle things differently.

Can't speak for anyone but myself and I think I've made plain (on both boards) what my gripes were.

Okay, 5 more pages to go...

:-D

No. He doesn't consider himself a NOM. It was my mistake. He was my friend. And I decided to include him.

There were other TBMs who fit in just fine.

Even BC, who is known for his curt remarks here, behaved himself quite well on my board. LOL

Again, I think you're misreading or misinterpreting what happened. I don't know that people wanted DCP "stopped," necessarily. I think, too, that you are insisting on seeing this purely through your own lens as "Queen" of your board; try seeing it through the eyes of the other people--they obviously didn't want to "whine" to you, and they didn't want to drag you into a conflict with someone with as much of a vindictive track record as Dan Peterson.

I wouldn't hold it against them either. Truth is, Scratch is probably lying. He's just saying there were 6 or 7 for effect. he wants people to think of DCP as that poor of a person. I ask, because its not so much he won't tell me, its because he can't.

It was someone, though. Someone is that unhappy with DCP they will go that route. I'm intrigued by any Scratch proteges. Who wants that?

This thread is entirely TL/DR. Just asking.

This is just plain comical now--this meltdown of yours. Peterson had already indicated he'd happily leave if that was preferred by Liz and the other posters.
