I get the sense that many church leaders see sex as a necessary evil sort of thing. Not anything to be encouraged, discussed, embraced, enjoyed but a instinct that must be accomodated once in a while.

And you TD, like Harmony and some others here, are full of holy high h****s*** (I do believe that's the first time I've ever used profanity on this board). Stuff it you tendentious little twit. The Church does not teach any such thing about sex and its purpose. In fact, its beauty and fulfilling qualities within the context of marriage between a man and a woman is all I heard growing up. Oh, yes, there is the vary serious counsel against sexual immorality, against the misuse or perversion of sexual desires that is the very spinal fluid of the post sixties cult of eroticism that saturates every nook and cubby hole of our sexually shallow, masturbatory culture, but that's a different matter.

Please, all of you, educate yourselves on LDS culture, philosophy, and teaching or sit down and shut up. There is, apparently, no fool like an anti-Mormon fool.

Hmmm... We must be getting a bit too close to the truth, for Loran to get so defensive that he's stooped to swearing and calling TD a tendentious little twit.

What's the matter, Loran? Did you think your wife was part of the sample?

Holy heart failure, Batman!

Yeah, I think charity's comment made coggins' dream come true - my head spun around three times.

Harmony, you are in a weird ward. Talk about sex. But in Victorian terms. I am quilting chairman in my ward, and we don't talk about sex around our quilts. And when we do, it isn't in such Victorian terms. Our sisters are much more liberated, I guess.

Let's cut to the chase, as I'm on a roll tonight and this will probably be my last series of posts for quite sometime. Harmony is not a Mormon. Harmony has never been a Mormon. Harmony is making it up as she goes along, which is why she knows little to nothing about basic church doctrines, church government, or church policies. Just ask Wade. All the TBMs here have noticed it at one time or another.

Her phantom membership, her phantom Temple recommend, and her phantom sexually repressed, Victorian ward are all a part of the same game.

The continued attempt to pit the Hugh Hefner anti-Judeo/Christian sex-as-the-staff-of-life philosophy against the Gospel's concept of sex as a love and commitment affirming, and potentially divine bond between a man and a woman is doomed to failure, and its doomed for very much the same reason the sexual revolution itself was and is doomed.

The Sexual Revolution turned sex into an adolescent recreational pastime for people who really didn't (and don't) have any conception of what it means to be "in love" or to "make love" at the depth and in the sense in which the Gospel understands it. The sixties and seventies took a special and sacred expression and turned it into the continual narcissistic search for sensate gratification it is today amongst much of the population.

It is the totemization of sex, which LDS have not bought into, that produces so much baseless (and empirically nonexistent) criticisms of LDS sexuality by the resident victims of the Me Generation.

Aside from your delusional insistence Harmony is not LDS, coggins, I'm curious about this:

The Sexual Revolution turned sex into an adolescent recreational pastime for people who really didn't (and don't) have any conception of what it means to be "in love" or to "make love" at the depth and in the sense in which the Gospel understands it. The sixties and seventies took a special and sacred expression and turned it into the continual narcissistic search for sensate gratification it is today amongst much of the population.

Since you've declared posters here to be of this base generation, I'm assuming you conclude we don't really understand what it means to be "in love" or to "make love". So what is it, coggins, that you understand that the rest of us don't.

I knew you would like that image. It may even inspire a poem.

There is a God and he does answer prayers.

Harmony is not a Mormon. Harmony has never been a Mormon. Harmony is making it up as she goes along, which is why she knows little to nothing about basic church doctrines, church government, or church policies.

Harmony is a Mormon, she has been a Mormon since October 1970, she generally tells the truth as she sees it because if she makes it up, she forgets how it's supposed to go. Unlike Joseph, she doesn't have 6 different explanations for the same event. And she knows as much as the church as anyone else who's been involved for 35+ years. Oh, and I might add that harmony, unlike Loran, has always been active, temple worthy, with no periods of inactivity, no run-ins with the law, no time when the Word of Wisdom was kicked to the curb, and throughout her life has been an upstanding defender of the church (and still is, when they're doing something that needs defending). She married her high school sweetheart in the temple, raised 8 children, has held multiple callings, has 3 college degrees, and has a rewarding and fulfilling career as a fundraiser for a national non-profit.

Just ask Wade.

Why? How would he know anything about harmony?

All the TBMs here have noticed it at one time or another.

And this is supposed to mean something?

Her phantom membership, her phantom Temple recommend, and her phantom sexually repressed, Victorian ward are all a part of the same game.

Not sexually repressed; sexually disappointed. Once again, you got it wrong. They aren't repressed at all. On the contrary, the women would be happy as clams, if their husbands suddenly showed some initiative and creativity in the bedroom.

As for my membership and temple recommend: they're quite substantial and need no seal of approval from Loran. Lucky for me, you have no stewardship over me. Of course, if you did, I'd request a transfer of my records to 2nd ward.

No, not too close to the truth. The fact of the matter is, Harmony, that this, like every other manufactured issue you've ever used here against the Church and its members, is nothing but a provocation you've spun out of whole cloth to bait the trap and create a firestorm.

You are a bigot and a slanderer, just like your soul mates who drove the Saints out of Missouri and Ohio with gun and torch. Just like the bigots who think that all blacks are insatiable sexual animals (and your support of this item really paints you into a corner doesn't it?) and Jews are good with money. Oh, and white men can't jump.

You've never contributed a single solitary thing of intellectual substance to this board Harmony, and you never will. The reason is that the inner demons and hatreds that drive your desire to destroy the Church and impugn everyone remotely connected to it is nothing more than an irrational and mindless compensatory mechanism for the gaping void in your own life that you will never come clean regarding here, nor do I expect you to.

You've exposed yourself as a fraud just too many times here to be taken seriously except by the bottom of the barrel denizens of forums such as this. In other words, those who are quite beyond rational or serious discourse on anything Mormon.

Now, take your phantom membership, your phantom recommend, your phantom Victorian ward, and your phantom arguments and shove them somewhere "appropriate".

Okay, this made me laugh.

ROTFL. You just get funnier and funnier.

Those would be the folks who know me in real life. Uh huh. Ya know, you make the church look bad, Loran. For one such as yourself to be a member just puts chills down the spines of the pure in heart.

Now, take your phantom membership, your phantom recommend, your phantom Victorian ward, and your phantom arguments and shove them somewhere "appropriate".

I am right where I'm supposed to be, Loran. This forum is entirely appropriate for this conversation.

Toddle along, dearie. Leave the conversation to us adults.

The sight of coggins lecturing someone about inner demons and hatreds is just too much....
