I would tell the kid to get a new hobby. These "art" groups, such as theatre, are full of homosexuals. Theres plenty of other ways someone with those talents can express themselves without spending inordiante amounts of time with men who enjoy "expressing themselves".

Theres no way he "just started feeling this way". Something was introduced to him, something presented itself to him that told him this lifestyle was an option. He needs to change his enviorment and seperate himself from those who are influencing him.

Obviously, since people aren't born gay, It's "hobbies" like these that turn good straight Mormons gay. This must be why there are so few artists within Mormonism. They're afraid they'll turn gay.

There was that scientific study that showed homophobic men got aroused when watching gay porn, suggesting that homophobes are closet gays, link to a summary of the study below. Perhaps Gaz is really a homosexual and he's in denial and fighting it.

This is one of my favorite rejoinders when talking to a bigot. I then proceed to tell them that they learned their behavior from other heterosexuals through movies, music, and other deviant forms of influence.

I have yet to hear someone give me a good response to that other than, "Pfft... Whatever... God created us this way."

And - why would so many people choose to be a part of a hated minority -- if it were only a choice? A minority that is so misunderstood, and treated with such viciousness?

I believe that years down the road scientists will find some biological or hormonal reason - some physical reason - why people are gay or straight. And then we will look back upon this time as a sort of dark ages for homosexuals.

So you really think that an LDS kid with all he stands to lose would just pick to be that way? You think it is because he is likes his school plays and sings in his school choir? You cannot be this foolish. Tell me this is an act.

They don't ask though in 1981 there was an FP letter that said oral sex was an unholy and unnatural act. The church back peddled on this about a year later. However, I have read comments by GAz that while not saying oral sex is a no no even for marrieds they imply it. However the directions are to not to pry into married couples sex lives

The Church is very ok with that.

I ask because if gay marriage becomes legal, how can the church still hold the position that homosexual oral sex is a sin/breaking the law of chastity?

Because the Church would refuse to recognize or sanction such marriages.

This could cause big problems in the way LDS view the morality of sexual intercourse between spouses and the more modern view of birth control in the church. I'm wondering if that's a fear the church has with legalizing it.......
If it's wrong for two married men to pleasure themselves sexually, then why is it moral for me to pleasure my husband the same way? Why is it moral for an infertile couple to marry and pleasure themselves sexually if they are not producing offspring?

Their out on this would be God is ok with heterosexual sex in marriage but never for homosexual sex and as noted they would not sanctions such marriages.
