Figure 6 Joseph Smith: "Olimlah, a slave belonging to the prince."
Figure 6 Egyptology:
True to his 19th-century American point of view, Joseph identified the only "black" person in the drawing as a slave. However, this figure is undoubtedly Anubis, guide of the dead, who is there to support the deceased. He has helped the deceased complete his journey, and assisted him in the use of the spells that were contained in his funeral book. Reuben Hedlock's rendering is not very good, perhaps because of damage to the original papyrus fragment from which he took the drawing, but Anubis is always black, and always has a jackal's head — in fact, you can still make out the pointed dog ear on the top of his head. The words above Anubis read: "Recitation by Anubis, who makes protection(?), foremost of the embalming booth,...
Wow, the web design of that site (bookofabraham.com) is so crappy I can hardly stand to look at it. Its creator must not have the spirit, for if he or she did, his or her website would look A LOT more appealing -- like lds.org.
Edit: I would not be surprised if Metcalfe made that site, too. Mormon Scripture Studies is a "study" in just how crappy web design can be. Holy Jeez!

What? That's Kevin Mathie's website.
What, in Kevin's work, do you specifically disagree with besides the web design?
Failure is not falling down but refusing to get up.

Brigham Young taught that learning truth from all sources was a good thing. You can get your self some truth at that site, Simon, but you need to be less judgemental and look at things from a different perspective. The church has molded you and told you what to think and what to feel. You need to grow out of that and rise above it. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is all about how things look and making appearances. That is so worldly. That is so finite and will stunt you in your quest to learn all you can in this life. The church stunts bright minds. It will keep you down.
Fine, go ahead and believe whatever you want about the Facsimile No. 3. Just know you won't get very far in teaching those things outside of the brainwashed minds of Mormonism. The world shakes its head at how stupid Joseph Smith was to make those claims. We know better. Thank God!
Deal with it. I did for a great many years. It wasn't much fun and I hated lying to myself.

You shame us, Simon. If you can't do better than that, don't respond. You make us all look bad with this kind of response.
(Nevo, Jan 23) And the Melchizedek Priesthood may not have been restored until the summer of 1830, several months after the organization of the Church.
SIMON! Kiss me big-boy!! Wrap your strong hands around my loving hips and ravish me! I'm all woman, Simon-boy. I want you to show me how it's really done. Don't listen to Joseph Smith the false prophet who said I'm a lad or a prince. I'm not. I'm all woman, a goddess of ancient Egypt by the name of Maatas written in the writing above me in the papyrus. Simon, I want to take you to bed with me. Will you? Make love to me, boy? I'm a woman!!! Oh Simon! Take me, I'm a woman not a man!!! Joseph Smith lied to you. Just peal of my clothes and see for yourself.
Simon, make love to me too! I am also a goddess of Egypt by the name of Isis as written in the writing above me in the papyrus. Don't listen to Joseph Smith who said I am a man. I'm a W O M A N!! Make love to me Simon. Peal off my clothes and see for yourself that Joseph Smith was a liar. Ravish me, Simon! Feel my hips and run your hands down my curves! You move me, Simon. I need a strong man like you to show a goddess her place.
Mr. Simon, Mr. Simon -- can I shine yo shoes for a nickel? Prophet Joe Smith sent me -- he say a good slave like me can shine yo shoes.
Can I shine you shoes? I'm just a black man trying to make a living. Never mind what the writing above me in the papyrus say. The writing in the papyrus written by the scribe say I be a god but Joe Smith make me a slave! Now I be confused.
