It must be quite difficult to live under such fear.
(Nevo, Jan 23) And the Melchizedek Priesthood may not have been restored until the summer of 1830, several months after the organization of the Church.

If they stopped the 'hit piece' it would make sense to shut down a thread like that. My guess is that the paper itself wasn't as harsh as that thread. Most likely in my opinion it was probably just the amount of traffic. Moreover I think that even without releasing the paper the damage has already been done.

It's back up. Either it was just a glitch from traffic, or they figured the memory hole treatment would make things worse.

William Schryver, on 10 May 2012 - 01:33 PM, said:

Well, well, well ... I can now see why John Dehlin was so anxious to see Greg Smith's article censored.

I have now read about 1/3 of the article. It is an absolutely devastating piece of work--devastating to Dehlin's proclaimed "objectivity" and "balance," that is.

That said, I have yet to identify a single instance of the ad hominem logical fallacy. Quite to the contrary, what the article does is use Dehlin's own words, meticulously assembled and cited, to demonstrate that he (Dehlin) is what I have long claimed him to be: an apostate evangelist, whose objective is to erode the faith of the Saints.

The sooner this article appears in print, the better: it will conclusively expose Dehlin for what he really is.

Confirmed as a hit piece.

Well, I don't know...maybe it would have best to read the piece so we can make an intelligent opinion ourselves. But...going to a GA, well...what more can be said?

Is Mormonism a cult? The maxwell institute is independent of the LDS church. It is made up of LDS scholars and apologists. I remember when critics said that Dan was in the employ of the GAs. False. And this incident proves it. I have no idea why someone would want to go to the GAs for help. It seems farfetched to me. And certainly not a brave thing to do.

It can be said that the Maxwell Institute is now in open war against church leadership, as are you. :)

Well this brings up a good point. Hopefully, all news reporters will send Obama and Mitt their articles before publishing them. And if they don't like them, have them squashed by the supreme court.
