While apparently well intentioned, you're making a serious mistake.

You do not hold to LDS Orthodoxy on multiple issues, you in fact hold many anti-mormon positions whether Christian or Atheist/Agnostic in nature.

As such, you will not be an effective and orthodox sharer of Mormonism to others, and as a result will potentially make yourself an enemy of the Church, rather than only online, now in real life.

The Church will tolerate much, especially your hiding of your views on the internet. But in public, you can no longer hide your wolfs in sheeps clothing views.

Any regular learned member, I would say go for it, but "you"..... You should not be representing Mormonism. If you can't do it online, what makes you think you can do it in real life and it be a "good" thing???

----

Oh, and FYI to you and the rest.... A person doesn't have to accept the false premises of anti-mormonism in order to be "telling the truth" and honest about history, etc.

Take the head in a hat issue.... That was only about 50% of how the translation process occurred with different items used and available. the other 50% was without a hat, and with and without things depending on the instance of translation. Thus, the anti-mormon claim is a lie that the translation occurred with a head in a hat and then claiming that the Church is lying when it presents a simple "artist rendering" to portray a CONCEPT an IDEA, that is the translation of plates. The actual truth is that several ways were used when the plates where translated, including at the ending using nothing at all, and nothing at all being with Joseph, including the plates.

The artists renditionings portray an IDEA...... That idea is "translating plates". Any other renditioning DOES NOT "practically" portray that concept. Further, portraying the head in the hat as "the" translation process is even more a LIE.... because it's not "only" how the process occurred.

In other words..... There is MORE TRUTH and FACT beyond the anti-mormon perversions and false judgments of all things Mormon. You are too willing to accept their perversions, without realizing there is more to the story. Thus, YOU have NO business being a representative of Mormonism, answering questions in the public square. If you want to make yourself an enemy of the Church, go for it. If not, keep your apostate views to yourself and the rest of your anti-mormon buddy's here.

The fact that you're so "buddy buddy" with the anti-mormons here, should tell you who's side you're really on. You have no business speaking for the Church. You will only do harm.

However, I would encourage you to put on a neutral community event open to people of all faiths, or no faith. I think a community forum would be the appropriate venue, and I, for one, would be interested in such an event as I have some questions that young Mormon missionaries seem unable to answer. Please let us know if you organize anything like this!

Have you thought about approaching a department at a nearby university about putting together a forum? During my undergrad years, forums on religious topics were always very well-attended, and exciting. I'm sure there are students and faculty who would be interested in a frank discussion of Mormonism. It's a timely topic and lots of people are curious. You'd probably get plenty of attendance from the broader community as well.

Of course you will be able to support this attack on consig by quoting us some of his vile anti-Mormon non orthodox filth, yes?

Now, this is an excellent idea!

The closest we have to a university is a local community college, but I think it is worth some thought.

All the Best!
