The funny part of all this is that if Ann was wearing long dresses or skirts, the peanut gallery here would be mocking her and bashing her. But...no such luck for the board. So, they need to hound her about her garments or lack there of. Geez...what a board. Ann wears very hot black shirts and blouses or a becoming white outfit and all heck breaks loose on the board.

I wish Ann was my woman.... :cool:

Your kind of woman flagrantly disregards the temple covenants she made with the Lord in order to appear pleasing to the world?

What if Ann smoked, or drank, or said the Book of Mormon was a 19th-century hoax, or let it be known that Thomas S. Monson is a mediocre televangelist with nothing but banal platitudes to offer? The LDS Church is not a cult, so it would be perfectly fine for a member in good standing to do things like that, right?

Just so we're clear, though: some malevolent internet person Photoshopped Sister Romney's picture to make it appear as if she wasn't wearing garments even though she really was, but she wasn't wearing garments because her fear of being mocked is more important to her than her promises to the Lord, but wearing clothes that would cover her garments as the Bretheren have instructed is not an option, but she is deliberately choosing to wear short skirts without her garments because she is a free spirit.

Yes, I think I understand Why Me's position.

Exodus 20:17

Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour’s.

So, Why Me, as a faithful LDS member defending the restored gospel from the mocking voices of critics, you want the board to know:

--that you wish another man's wife was your woman;
--that you advocate breaking one's sacred temple covenants to look worldly and appealing;
--that one of Utah's main problems is the lack of a reputable pornography shop;
--that unmarried LDS people should dry hump in their underwear in order to get to know each other.

Truly, the heathen stands rebuked when the righteous power of a faithful priesthood holder is made manifest.

It is often said, "Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day, but teach a man to smell a fish, and you make him healthy, wealthy, and wise."

Why me, you have just described most posters here. I know that I am a "modern" Mormon man (I still am a member in good standing).

My "style" is to not pay tithing, to avoid church, meetings, callings and to basically keep within about 100 yards of any LDS church house (it causes me nausea), and to basically disregard almost everything that comes from the Mormon church as antiquated thinking, steeped in ignorance and myth. That is what us "Modern" Mormons do.

The LDS church is not a cult...she is a free spirit. She is my kind of woman.

Baby, you got that right. For me the LDS church is no cult too. I do as I please because I am a "modern" Mormon man. My wife and I are into swinging, free love and the like, well you know, because we are "free spirits" and the LDS church ain't no cult. There are no restraints or constraints on us baby. non-cult religions don't operate that way.

I am digging the Why me brand of Mormonism! It is about self expression and giving the finger to the "man".

This thread really makes me wish men's garments were as touchy as women's. I mean seriously, who the hell cares if someone sees my garment top slipping out of my short sleeve? Who the hell cares if someone sees my t-neck around my neck? Yeah, it looks like any old grubby undershirt. What if someone sees my whites peek through from under the bottoms of my shorts? Not that big a deal.

But what if you see a woman's garments? Even a little tiny speck of 'em? Disaster!

This is what I say: screw the idea of women's garments needing to be hidden!

I respectfully disagree, Z. I don't want to see women's garments. If women's garments are not the least sexy article of clothing ever invented, they are certainly in the running. Women's garments turn a Victoria's Secret model into your grandma.

I say: screw the idea of garments.

Oh, wait. Did that. Decades ago.
