Some of Logan Smith’s [the guy who started this DezNat thing] more disturbing statements are his beliefs about women. Logan supports repealing the 19th amendment to the U.S. constitution–the amendment that gave women the right to vote. Logan repeatedly uses the #Repealthe19th hashtag [22, 23, 24, 25] on social media and has tied it directly to his anti-feminist views, stating, “Feminism has only tried to homogenize the political power of women as a tool of progressives. Lump them in to [sic] the groupthink and harness their collective ballot power. #repealthe19th.” Additionally, Logan has stated “Nazis didn’t exist until after women got the vote.” He believes feminism is harmful to women. He has also made statements arguing that women destroy organizations when they are in leadership positions.

As always, with regard to the highlighted bit above, every accusation is a confession.

Well, yikes! I would have hoped for this not to be the case, but Boylan does appear to be one of those nasty extremists after all. What Mopologetics seem to require is not just a love of the LDS Church but also a hatred of other things, and for some the hatred part may be the stronger motivator. That hatred is masked as condemnation of wickedness, but the truth of its nature is revealed on the margins. When they get angry and lash out at things that are not central to defending the core truth claims and rage on about Marxism or gender issues, you know it’s not really about defending the church per se but about finding an outlet for their anger and hatred. They need the cover apologetics provides for acting out on these peripheral issues.

Neville-Neville Land is a fine example. It is gratuitous in the way it harps on something that no one can know for sure and makes no difference to a person’s salvation. It is truly a case of selling your birthright for a mess of pottage.

Yup. Robert Boylan creating a fictional Black Mormon apologist reminded me of Deznat creating fictional “Chino Negro” social media posts with stolen profile pics as some kind of weird retribution for posting that bowie knife bandanna video.
Three years on, not surprising to see a repeat of the same juvenile and racist garbage from Boylan.

I searched for details, and this seems to be the background, from an 8/2020 discussion

My intro to DezNat was happenstance. I came across this goofy masked bowie knife wielding kid performing for the camera to a Mormon rap soundtrack and knew I’d stumbled on something that Reddit would have all kinds of fun with. After that went viral, the DezNat crew responded by attempting to smear me as some kind of porn-loving pedo, or something. Oops. Kinda picked the wrong target for those kind of hijinx, lol.

In any case, I texted Tristan and let him know he really should have a tête-à-tête with his crew, because trolling into me with false accusations would be worse than a crime, it would be a blunder. C’est pire qu’un crime, c’est une faute.

But he didn’t listen and Hanna proceeded to create a DezNat blog where she attempted to lay out my crimes. Oof. She’s since deleted that blog after receiving a point-by-point rebuttal that made it clear what an ill-advised fishing expedition she was on, if the intent was to somehow publicly slander me into submission or avoid sounding like a crazy person on a weird vendetta against an internet stranger whose only crime was poking fun at a DezNat clown who has since gone on to use the N-word to describe a well-known BYU student. It’s a circus. But I don’t mind setting aside a bit of time to write and collect a few reviews of their show.

So, the younger apologists, it seems, had decided at some point that alt-right was the brand for them, and they ran with it. In some cases, they probably relished it, and although they, at least some of them, are trying to distance themselves from alt-right edginess, the habits of the alt-right just surface again and again, here and there.

I think we have to call this Robert Nygren fiction the brainchild of Robert Boylan. He is up to his neck in this online alt-right garbage. Mike Parker should have chosen better friends. I have yet to see his alt-right behavior. He seems to be pretty standard issue Mopologist. Yes, there is the anger and hostility aimed at fellow Latter-day Saints who have the wrong opinions about Book of Mormon geography . . . yawn . . . but in Mike Parker I have yet to see the alt-right aspect.

Thing is, when they get pulled into this vortex, it is difficult for them to stay untainted.

Seriously...WTdoubleF? This is disgusting. Often I like to view my loved ones and such as good people, ultimately. And they are. But I also realize so many people sitting in the Church have this same type of mindset. Oddly, they have it and don't seem to realize it. I know we're talking about a few Mormons in particular here, but it's too wide a problem to ignore and append to these Mormons fellows. But, yuck.

He’s cleaned up his Twitter account, but if you use the Wayback machine and start scrolling through his 2020 stuff it gets pretty thick with #chinavirus stuff and he’s a fan of Hank “Korihor” Smith. This DezNat thing seems to have found fertile ground with Mormon professionals - let’s not forget that Romney himself followed #DezNat on a burner account, so it seems to me what was being posted resonated with a lot of Mormons.
