If merc gets snotty and nasty as well as personal, which he often does then I think this is fair game.
And I've called Merc on his nastiness...... pretty sure I have. But bringing up a childhood (that quite possibly had abuse as part of the scenario) seems as though it should be off limits.
I hope anyone with a bit of decency would grasp that. Nehor gets that.

You're a caricature of an angry adult who can't get over his abusive childhood and has somehow transferred his mommy issues to the religion his parents held. Let's just call it even.
What the hell is your problem, Nehor? Wade's not here, so you're taking over the role of board jack-ass?

Uhhhh.... and PP and Merc and the empitome of kindness and repsectful dialogue? How about some even disdain for their antics Ms Kimberly Ann.
Jason, you are correct. Often times, PP and Merc are not the epitome of kindness on this board, though I know both of them to be quite kind and respectful off the board. However, Nehor's comments regarding the childhood abuse of another poster crossed a line, in my opinion, that should not be crossed. I am honestly shocked that he would bring that particular issue up and use it as ammunition against Merc. Nehor's remarks concerning abuse show that he has no idea what damage it does to people and the callousness of his comments is disturbing.

"Honey, what are you saying? Isn't that your name?"
I said, "Daddy always called me S*** Head!"

I was arrogant and wrong to think it wouldn't bite me one day. Thanks to all those who were kind here and to those with whom I had real dialogue. Best of luck to you all.
I'll watch this thread for a bit but then I'm gone.
:(
I'm not sure if I ever provided real dialogue. I think I'm mostly here for one-liners myself and my apologetic skills are much less than yours. Shucks, my one-liners are too.
That's General Leo. He could be my friend if he weren't my enemy. eritis sicut dii I support NCMO

Do you Jason?
I am all for civility. I think I 95% of the time demonstrate that. I have never brought up Merc's childhood issues. However, Merc is nasty, mean, demeaning, arrogant and so self assured that all that is quite fine I see little reason to extend special kindness to him. That said, I personally would not throw childhood issue in his face. As a victim of sexual abuse in my early teens I am fairly sensitive to that.
Dammit. Nehor is a good guy who brings a lot to the discussion here. I hope he reconsiders, and I hope people treat each other a little better around here. If anyone's going be an asshole here, it's not going to be me.
someone who is not banned from MA&D needs to go over and post a thread to Pahorn. Ask him if he teaches the principle of Polyandry or Polygamy to his seminary class. The way they taught it in the 1800's it is right up there with fasting and prayer so I wonder if he talks about it with his class when discussing the Book of Mormon and being married to one wife and when he talks about the D&C, or if he gives them additional information and suggested readings like Todd Compton's or Sarah Barringer Gordon's books. I read something recently that he teaches seminary.
