You are right. It is easy for people to make stupid, prejudicial statements like the above. They have just enough accuracy to them to malign effectively the LDS Church as a whole today, but not enough to qualify as true.

I would not deny it, and I would say that the whole endeavor could be a colossal misuse of time and money. What I have a hard time with is the implication that the general authorities of the LDS Church, taken on the whole, are as cynical and dishonest as a con artist-televangelist.
