I like the way you think, BC. On the other hand, DCP and The Nehor have both stated that they would like to shed my blood. And I know that there are countless other Mopologists who want me to suffer in some way, shape, or form. So, to a certain extent, the question is: Can I trust LifeOnaPlate? The answer is clearly, "No." LoaP doesn't understand how the LDS Church and LDS apologetics can hurt people (although I admit he does seem to be learning), and until he does, I can assure him that there will be no "lunch."
I think you know they're just being facetious.
Yes, you're right: I understand that the "lunch" offer was completely in jest.

Wait a second. . . you find it in poor taste to say that someone ought to increase their meds, but you don't find it in poor taste to say that someone is disturbed and ought to see a counselor?
"Finally, for your rather strange idea that miracles are somehow linked to the amount of gay sexual gratification that is taking place would require that primitive Christianity was launched by gay sex, would it not?"

As to that, I can't speak. If you get stood up, treat yourself. And don't be afraid to ask that single gal over at the other table to join you (unless you're already married of course). Faint heart never won fair lady.

Retort:
You find it in poor taste that posters should use smilies, but you don't find it in poor taste that people can be slandered and defamed here in the name of "free speech"?

Smilies I can do something about.
As for the latter, what do you suggest?

Have you ever heard of "facing your fears"?

So, I appeal to the other folks on the board: How should I respond to such a gesture? On the one hand, it seems quite friendly and nice. On the other hand, why the two-facedness from LoaP? I am just curious what others think.
Free food Trump's all. You can always have it boxed up to take home if you don't like the company.
You told me you were sending a check for that. Am I to understand you never intended to do so?
I am contacting my lawyer.

Nuting. It's a free speech board. I'm just trying to work out how smilies are exempt from free speech????
Now, be warned, Shades, I'm going to start a campaign, and I'll call it the National Association of Zealots for the Implimentation of Smilies. Or NAZIS.

I see them as different, depending on the intent. In one case, I am assuming that someone already is taking medication when I have no reason to do so. If they are not taking medication, then I am using medication as a catch-all solution, which I also do not advocate. Additionally, I'm not a doctor. I don't typically give advice in regards to dosage or substance.
In regards to counseling, I realize such a suggestion can be used as an insult. I've used it that way myself in the past, unfortunately. Doing so, however, perpetuates the social stigma and acts as a way to elevate oneself above another. That's what insults do. In regards to Scratch I am completely serious in suggesting he see a counselor. I don't view that as a bad thing in the least. A lot of people can benefit from speaking with a professional counselor. So I am hoping to convey that in regards to Scratch I really think speaking with a counselor would be beneficial.
