Wheat wrote:Then you are ignorant of the scriptures that speak of these things. Are you suggesting that D&C133 be removed from the canon, too? What about D&C 29 and 45? Do they bother you, too?

Mamby pamby Mormons. Yuck.

I rejoice in the day of Christ's retribution. I am glad that He has not grown weak-kneed about these things - unlike far too many of those who call themselves Saints.

Call it whatever you want, mamby pamby or what have you, but can you point out a specific verse or declaration that says that believers will be drooling over the charred remains of their brothers and sisters?
One moment in annihilation's waste,
one moment, of the well of life to taste-
The stars are setting and the caravan
starts for the dawn of nothing; Oh, make haste!

No, you'll just be cheering on the Savior as he tramples the wicked. Lovely.

If nothing else, you are a good reminder of what Mormonism ought not to be.

"Wheat"
You better believe I'll be cheering him on. It will be the day of vengeance He has held in his heart for so long. The day of retribution for all his enemies. I rejoice that He will finally unsheath his sword and reap down the earth.

Moroni 7: 46 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, if ye have not charity, ye are nothing, for charity never faileth. Wherefore, cleave unto charity, which is the greatest of all, for all things must fail—
47 But charity is the pure love of Christ, and it endureth forever; and whoso is found possessed of it at the last day, it shall be well with him.

Ether 12:
34 And now I know that this love which thou hast had for the children of men is charity; wherefore, except men shall have charity they cannot inherit that place which thou hast prepared in the mansions of thy Father.

This is a perversion of Christianity and does not speak well of any of the scriptures you alluded to.

Thanks, LOAP. I honestly do not understand people like Wheat.

I think he's a poser. I know Mormons who feel/believe the same as Wheat, but it's hard to imagine they would speak out in the manner he does.

I can't tell if wheat is just putting everyone on and trying to be incendiary, or if wheat really is more of a zealot of sorts who would take pleasure in the suffering of others while professing to believe in a God who doesn't do the same. It's hard to say at this point. Internet anonymity is rather counterproductive in many cases.

I'm kind of hoping he's an exmo sockpuppet trying to make the church look bad, because I don't like to think that there are Mormons out there who think and feel as he does.

My wife is always reminding me that the church is full of wonderful and good people. I have to remember that every time I run across someone like Wheat.

I am willing to bet money that Wheat = Will Schryver. If that is the case, then he is guilty of rank hypocrisy and lying, and thus he will be the one who is burnt to a cinder during the Second Coming.

I don't know if he's Will or not and don't really care. But anyone who looks forward to the suffering of his perceived enemies is to be pitied.

For what it's worth, I forgive him for the terrible things he's said about me.
