I see no relevant differentiation between here or there.

Quit sandbagging.

The discussion is about how moderators deal with you here and how moderators deal with Pahoran at MADB, not who's a bigger jerk. If this discussion took place here, then it clearly has nothing to do with the wideness of the berth he is given at MADB. I hope that's clear enough.

The example I referred to involving Pahoran occurred at MAD.

lets poll and see who the bigger jerk is, you or me.
And crawling on the planet's face
Some insects called the human race
Lost in time
And lost in space...and meaning

And how was it handled?

It took place here. But the location isn't important, it's the fact that antagonism comes from both sides. To my knowledge Wheat never swore, but swearing isn't an indication of viciousness. You can cut someone down just as easily without using a single swear word.

The MAD mods don't "deal" with Selek. They deal with posters who say things about president Hinckley "checking out".

Not that I give rat's ass. MAD can do whatever they like, and they make it clear in the board guidelines:

The moderators are not FAIR, no really we are not FAIR. Please don't waste our time fighting every decision made by a mod. No one has died from a bad moderator call.

Indeed.

For the debate purpose of this thread only. I'm not, and never will be one jostling to post on MAD. When I deleted my account there that was the end of the matter. And I still don't see why it's such a big deal to post there.

Pahoran was not suspended or reprimanded in any way.

However, I will give Juliann credit. She probably ended up saving this particular poster's life. She contacted him/her privately, and assisted him/her in getting help.

Fair enough. I've never understood why MAD has always been such a focal point here, but I think our disagreement boils down to the worldviews of the people responsible for each side of this dichotomy. Latter-day Saints are generally going to be more polite and respectful, and that's going to be a standard at an LDS board, which is naturally on the defensive in this dichotomy. The majority of this board is on the antagonistic side of that dichotomy, and no such standard is demanded of its posters. Obviously the people who espouse the antagonistic position are going to appreciate the freedom afforded them here and denigrate the standards of the other board. The moderation-related double standard is alive and well on both sides, and I can't say that I have ever sensed a greater degree of it there than here. Even when I defended gay marriage before the Prop. 8 vote I was never impeded in the least, despite the censorship of a number of the "TBM's" over there who criticized me heavily. Many here will just say I'm dogmatic and blind, but the same can be said about the people here, and I believe I've done a respectable job of trying my best to remain objective. A handful of people here and at MAD can't even begin to say that.

That conflicts entirely with what years of experience at that board have taught me about their moderation. I'm not saying I don't believe you, but if you have a link to the thread, I'd like to see the tone of the thread and what exactly was said.
