I wish to note that Elder Cook passed away this week. (I have not seen his death mentioned on any blogs or other message boards.)

I never met Elder Cook. My exposure to him was limited to hearing some general conference addresses of his and reading the purported text of his famous devotional at Ricks in which he told the tale of his heated conversation with Sir Jagger.

My soulmate and I spent our Friday date night tonight munching on delicious homemade rhubarb pie (topped, of course, with several generous dollops of crème fraîche), sipping on bran-flavored Postum (quite invigorating!), and reading through an old discussion regarding Elder Cook’s account: https://www.arisefromthedust.com/mick-j ... dern-music. [I Have Questions]

As we chatted, I told him that I was married and had eight children. He told me that he was not married but that he had three children and was proud of it. He told me that he had one woman pregnant in Virginia, one in New York, and one in England, as I recall.

Here is a list of his 8 children and their birth dates:
Marsha Hunt:
Karis Hunt Jagger (born on 4 November 1970)
Bianca Pérez-Mora Macias:
Jade Sheena Jezebel Jagger (born on 21 October 1971)
Jerry Hall:
Elizabeth 'Lizzie' Scarlett Jagger (born 2 March 1984)
James Leroy Augustin Jagger (born August 1985)
Georgia May Ayeesha Jagger (born 12 January 1992)
Gabriel Luke Beauregard Jagger (born in 1997)
Luciana Gimenez:
Lucas Maurice Morad Jagger (born May 1999)
Melanie Hamrick:
Deveraux Octavian Basil Jagger (born 2016)

Assuming Cook didn’t mean Jagger had three women pregnant simultaneously the anecdote can be placed to the time frame between March 1984 and August 1985. I find it interesting that, just 4 years later Cook couldn’t remember whether it was a flight to Houston or to Dallas.

I suspect that being accosted on a flight by a nosey and judgemental Bible basher would irritate most people. I think Mick was quite restrained, especially when Cook sarcastically agreed with Mick’s evolution stance about humans descending from Apes.

Our conversation continued. He told me he believed in evolution and that he also believed he had descended from a monkey. I told him, with a smile, “That might be the only thing you’re right about.”

Mick did well to not request a seat move.

So the old Fibber has died. That means the church's history library should now make his journals available to the public. We need to check October 30, 1983. That was the date his son Troy gives for the alleged Jagger airplane encounter. (Actually, that was Troy's third shot at it, first 1985, then 1984 and only after someone else had pointed out Jagger had been in Mexico from Oct 26-30, 1983 shooting a music video did Cook's son Troy at last land on Oct 30, 1983, supposedly after having read about it in Cook's journal.)

Rusty lied about the plane crash/Africa.

Joseph Smith lied about everything .

Paul H. Dunn lied and lied.

Oaks lied about his time at BYU.

Troy (His son) searched his dad's journals and established the date as October 30, 1983.

Tom gets that credit, but yes, I agree. Maybe Troy doesn't realize he used so many of the exact mopologetic tricks that drive people nuts--he wrote many posts explaining what he was going to do, many more posts explaining how he was doing that, then even more posts explaining how long it was taking to do that, then MORE posts explaining that he had already explained that it was taking time because he was busy!! Then multiple posts explaining what happened around the time he thought Cook had the experience, then posts explaining why he told the story the way he did and that what sounded like inconsistencies were not and here's why, plus he changed that date three times, and after someone finally documented Jagger in Mexico he drew a bull'seye around that date and declared it was the one he found in his Dad's journals.

After a while I started skimming his posts, so I may have missed a few more apologetics. Only Hamblin, in my experience, has written more explaining the conditions for what he would be explaining.

Tom gets that credit, but yes, I agree.
