This really is the crux of the matter. For years I was able to rationalize that it was one of the fifteen who had gone rogue and come up with hateful ideas or teachings, that as a whole, they were great and loving men. Then I learned that never does one of the fifteen (last seventy years) do something that the rest do not approve. When Packer or McConkie go after people, they did/do it with the approval of the fifteen.
Then it all came tumbling down and I realized these guys are fifty or more years behind on every social issue as a collective body. They are not leaders, they are not prophets, they are not reformers, they are just a bunch of old men who want to keep their world as Pleasantville.
