The doctrines of Mormonism (that I spliced from your useless post) are Joseph Smith's convoluted understanding of the cult of Christianity which I want no part of. I want no part of a religion that glorifies the story of a father (Abram) who is willing to slay or cut the throat of his own son on an altar of sacrifice to prove his loyalty to the cult! Thus, Jehovah saith something to the effect, "Slit the boy's throat and spill his blood on this altar if you love me." I find the biblical god to be horrifying and frightening, like a bad dream that one wants to desperately escape.

The Mormons have an incredible history of racism and dislike towards the idea of Africans being elevated to a status wherein they could be admitted to the white man's (MG) priesthood club. Don't even get me started on the likes of Brigham Young. He was a despot.

Thinking of the Mormon priesthood sickens me. And those repugnant oaths I made in the temple -- I've long since denounced. Thank God!

Premortal Existence
Council in Heaven and Foreordination
Exaltation and Eternal Progression
Plurality of Gods and Creation "Ex Materia"
Specific Teachings on the Priesthood

…are of primary significance. The side issues that are still being discussed by not only critics but by apologists and other members of the church are there, but the ‘truths of eternity’ consisting of doctrines that ‘taste good’ will most likely not go away. The idea of premortal existence and eternal progression make a lot of sense…innately…to a lot of people. The other doctrines listed provide ‘entry points’ to ‘deeper meaning’ for exploration to those that seek the deep things of God that go beyond the superficial.

Some folks get stuck on the non essentials.
