GadiSCAMton, I see that you're upset with me due to your unsuccessful efforts to have me banned from the board, and it seems you're reacting in a rather immature manner. However, it's important to note that in the first vision account, Joseph Smith explicitly states that God informed him that all creeds were an abomination. Mormons interpret abomination as something that is detestable or loathsome in the eyes of God. This indicates that the first vision reveals the creeds were not in harmony with God's truth and include ideas of men teachings and faults. The initial vision suggests that Christian churches do not embody the essence of Christianity. Please prove me wrong "professor"

Call it the first vision or “restoration”, Joseph Smith’s frontier religious experiment was meant to be a line in the sand.

Re: Mass Shooting at Mormon Church In Michigan
If I may: I do not strive to see the good in others (all of us are mixed bags of brokenness with various degrees of "good" if we are weighing "good" against other humans) and my hope is to see everyone be reconciled with their Creator - We have all turned our back on the Creator - On our own, we will remain separated.Hound of Heaven wrote: ↑Tue Sep 30, 2025 10:58 amCeeboo, I recognize that as a Christian, you strive to see the good in others in hopes of guiding them back to faithceeboo wrote: ↑Tue Sep 30, 2025 12:55 am
Letting you know.
You are witnessing a refusal (intentional or not) - a distraction (intentional or not) - a potential option (intentional or not) - a cover (intentional or not) - excuses (intentional or not) -------------- To see what is plainly in sight. Evil.
My thoughts are 100% with the many victims of this horrific evil and I make no apologies for the dehumanized victim cold blooded murderer.
While I think I know what you're trying to express (I think?), it's way too over the top for me.However, the animosity that resided within the shooter at the Mormon church mirrors the same hatred inside several members of this board, including Can'tpakes, Captain Progressive, GadiSCAMton, Marcus the Carcass, DrCamnPP, and a few others.
Some of the board members here seem to enjoy ridiculing, mocking, and disparaging people who do not share their particular political ideology, I'm not sure if hatred is at the center though (perhaps?). If I had to guess, I would guess that it's centered in how they see themselves compared those who do not align with their particular ideologies - Meaning, many see themselves as much more informed, much more intelligent, much more moral, much wiser, the critical thinkers among us, and certain about their certainty. These individuals harbor hatred towards you due to your Christian beliefs and particularly because of your conservative views.
Understood. My time on these boards would support your claim. When a Mormon departs from the church, there are numerous paths an ex-Mormon can take to shape their life after leaving the church.
Christians, like any other large group of people that includes many complex individual human beings, hold various opinions about the things you bring up here. For me, depending on the circumstances and environment, I often share my personal belief in Christ. For example: I will typically share with someone who asks me in a relatively private setting. As far as defending the faith, I don't think it needs to be defended. In my opinion, it's like me trying to defend a roaring lion from an ant.Ok, I must say, Ceeboo, my primary concern with Christianity is that many Christians, including yourself, tend to delay taking decisive action to defend their faith and belief in Christ.
This change of heart is almost never a sudden thing, and it is extremely rare that it is related to some random yahoo posting on a discussion board alone (in this case, I am the random yahoo)- Rather, this change of heart (or the softening of a hard heart) is spiritual operation and it's performed by divine origins. In Scripture, circumcision of the heart is spoken of. Ther heart (like the male organ that was circumcised in the Old Testament) is a very sensitive thing - it's a very private thing - it is guarded - meaning, heart circumcision isIt often seems as though there is an expectation that those who challenge Christianity will suddenly have a change of heart and embrace Christians as equals.
Leaving the individuals you referred to on the shelf, I am aware that there are many people who would rejoice if Christianity were completely eradicated from the earth. I'm not worried about such a thing happening - Not even a little bit.but I want to convey to you, Ceeboo, that the individuals I referred to would rejoice if Christianity were to be completely eradicated from the earth.
It is.The evil you speak of is real!
You're welcome.I want to thank you for being a Christian

Re: Mass Shooting at Mormon Church In Michigan
Given how many people call themselves Mormon, I can't even imagine that many of these people are not Christian (followers of Christ).
Mormonism, however, is not found among the various Christian religions.

Why do you say that this horrendous crime the result of “evil”? Is mental illness inherently “evil”? When civilians were killed in New York, and in Baghdad, was that the result of “evil” in both cases? If not, what’s the distinction you’re making?
Premise 1. Eyewitness testimony is notoriously unreliable.
Premise 2. The best evidence for the Book of Mormon is eyewitness testimony.
Conclusion. Therefore, the best evidence for the Book of Mormon is notoriously unreliable.

I shouldn't have to read between the lines. It was a yes or no question. Your confusion over the matter is what leaves the doorway open for terrorist attacks against Mormons by Bible-believing Christians. If Sanford had joined this board, it's unlikely he would have been disagreed with on any of his political or religious views by the pro-Trump Christians on this board. It's also not clear how Trump's executive order could clearly protect a Mormon from unjust prosecution by the DOJ based on having to "get your drift" -- they sort of are but sort of aren't.

I asked that question earlier but it’s not one that seems easy to answer, if asking the folks most prone to use the term.I Have Questions wrote: ↑Tue Sep 30, 2025 1:40 pmWhy do you say that this horrendous crime the result of “evil”? Well, damn. Then the attack was by Christians, against non-Christians.Whiskey wrote: ↑Tue Sep 30, 2025 1:27 pmAwkwardly expressed or written, but true.Hound of Heaven wrote: ↑Tue Sep 30, 2025 1:20 pmGadiSCAMton, I see that you're upset with me due to your unsuccessful efforts to have me banned from the board, and it seems you're reacting in a rather immature manner. The attack was made by an individual. Mormons can be Christians and still be their own sect.
