I had considered the mission from god thing too, but now I just think he really gets a kick out of this whole thing. Whatever his reasons, we can be sure he isn't acting out of some kind of concern for us.

Anyhow, I actually wanted to commend you for giving your "yes" and "no" responses. I'd like to see more of that from you. I also wanted to commend you for admitting that what the bishop did broke the letter of the law, even though you don't think it broke the spirit of the law. I completely disagree of course, but that's more than anyone else has admitted so far.

Woot woot! I"m commendable.

By the way, I've never given an opinion on whether Everybody Wang Chung should be found out a liar. I don't really care about any of that at all, to be honest. And I've never spoken to Everybody Wang Chung at all, so it's kind of a stretch to put us on the same "team" don't you think? If you guys could find a way to find out if Everybody Wang Chung was lying about going on the trip without violating the privacy of the members of your church (and, if not every person who's name was checked was a Mormon, then you're in an even worse scenario) and the people who went on the trip, heck, I would read the resulting threads. I'm sure there would be plenty good drama to be had there.

I think you're missing the point. No sensitive information was viewed, accessed or seen. Everybody Wang Chung made claims so those claims were checked on. So no anonymity was compromised. No private information was viewed. Nothing. But, here you find it admirable to try and out the anonymity of someone who happnes to be on the team opposite of you (I know you don't like that, but I don't know how else to describe it).

As to whether youfind Dan's and the bishop's actions wrong, I'm fine with that. We all do some things wrong. It's just I simply disagree.

I hope we can agree to disagree and not make a big public stink about it, as you have all tried to do.

What a weird way to twist things. Insults come. I comment on those insults. If the insults never came we'd never be off on these tangents. then you, for your team, in some way to justify insults blame the person being insulted?

How about you drop the passive agressive trolling act and explain yourself?

PS If you keep up the charade and act like this question is me persecuting you, I'm putting you on ignore.

The question is just too loaded for an easy answer. I'd love to answer a question that is far more thoughtful and balanced? Did that just insult you? Sorry...just trying here

Well, not to derail from the topic of what stem is really up to, but...

I think Dan knows he did a despicable thing asking a bishop friend to breach the bounds of the access limit to the Church's leader database. In his heart, he knows he did wrong.

And? What's it to you? Why do you care if Dan did this minor little infraction by asking a question? Seriously, considering the grand efforts to expose in real life information about LDS folks here, why is it a terrible misdeed if Dan asked a question of a friend? Why worth 44 pages and counting?

it seems like the tiniest of infractions compared to what is the norm 'round these parts.

I know Stemelbow's heart. And God knows it, as well. And most of you are just flat out wrong about his motives for posting here.

Stemelbow, the Lord hears your prayers and knows of your tears of love that moisten your pillow each evening in sorrow for the lost souls of so many angry, unrepentant posters here on this forum.

Gird up your loins, Stemelbow. Continue to take the sacrament (worthily) each Sunday in remembrance of our dear Lord, whom we both represent and serve and He will bless your efforts here and many of this board will feel the power of the Spirit and begin attending church again. We know that at least two former angry apostates have returned to full church activity as a result of your efforts.

Your efforts have not gone unnoticed, my dear Brother.
Ladies, it's time for us to stop accommodating an environment of immodesty and jump out of the water before we get boiled alive by the seductive and evil influences that are a result of continued immodest dress.

Stem though you might like a reminder...better be careful about justifying sin and misdeeds.

2 Nephi 28:8

And there shall also be many which shall say: Eat, drink, and be merry; nevertheless, fear God—he will justify in committing a little sin; yea, lie a little, take the advantage of one because of his words, dig a fpit for thy neighbor; there is no harm in this; and do all these things, for tomorrow we die; and if it so be that we are guilty, God will beat us with a few stripes, and at last we shall be saved in the kingdom of God.

Sheesh it ain't about attending church again. Some of the angriest folks here attend church, I'm guessing.

More power to them if they want to go to church or not. I just want, for their sakes, to see the hostility to be lessened.
