Anyhow, I actually wanted to commend you for giving your "yes" and "no" responses. I'd like to see more of that from you. I also wanted to commend you for admitting that what the bishop did broke the letter of the law, even though you don't think it broke the spirit of the law. I completely disagree of course, but that's more than anyone else has admitted so far.
Woot woot! I"m commendable.
By the way, I've never given an opinion on whether Everybody Wang Chung should be found out a liar. I don't really care about any of that at all, to be honest. And I've never spoken to Everybody Wang Chung at all, so it's kind of a stretch to put us on the same "team" don't you think? If you guys could find a way to find out if Everybody Wang Chung was lying about going on the trip without violating the privacy of the members of your church (and, if not every person who's name was checked was a Mormon, then you're in an even worse scenario) and the people who went on the trip, heck, I would read the resulting threads. I'm sure there would be plenty good drama to be had there.
I think you're missing the point. No sensitive information was viewed, accessed or seen. Everybody Wang Chung made claims so those claims were checked on. So no anonymity was compromised. No private information was viewed. Nothing. But, here you find it admirable to try and out the anonymity of someone who happnes to be on the team opposite of you (I know you don't like that, but I don't know how else to describe it).
As to whether youfind Dan's and the bishop's actions wrong, I'm fine with that. We all do some things wrong. It's just I simply disagree.
I hope we can agree to disagree and not make a big public stink about it, as you have all tried to do.
