Back when I was a FAIR apologist, she invited me to participate in another, non-LDS forum, to help her defend the church from a bunch of fundie Christian nutjobs. So, I cheerfully obliged and then stuck around after the bashing stopped. Not long after, I quit posting on FAIR, but I stayed on her board. Then I had my epiphany and started posting on RfM. MorningStar discovered my RfM posts and started circulating emails among the members of the other board, stating that I was possibly deranged and dangerous, but at the very least I was evil and hateful, etc. I started getting anonymous hate mail on my blog (which turned out to be from MorningStar's mother). Finally, one of the board members alerted me to what was going on. I said, "You know, you could have asked me about it." It was funny, but I was getting 150+ hits a day on my blog from MorningStar, her mother, and a couple of other Mormons. I just thought I was reaching a wider audience.
I don't think she hates me anymore, and I've forgiven her. But it was a weird episode.

Actually, all of Utah itself is about 40% active LDS. I know Salt Lake is much lower, so it would have to be lower than 40% I would think.
But anyway, there are lot's of reasons why the Internet porn stat is higher there, and all clearly have nothing to do with the Church other than in a good way it seems.

I used to study in the Lee Library at BYU down in the social sciences area. From my carrel, I had a clear view of the sex-related books, and there was always a steady stream of guys furtively sneaking over to read the Journal of Homosexuality or some other such stuff, apparently trying to find the salacious among the academic and clinical.
Next they're going to tell us that Mormons don't masturbate.
When you have been repressed or are expected not act a certain way because being sexually curiousity is different from being a sexual deviant, you have to find someway in which to explain your behavior, you also have to find someone to blame, someone needs to become your scapegoat.

Explaining the natural way of being and covering up the fact that Bishop's are ******* idiots
does not allow the real victims to be helped and allows for the the real victims to be hurt and their families to suffer for years after.......tearing families apart even more and even further apart.........so far apart that no amount of forgivness can ever mend the families.
