CHAT ROOM NOW UP AND RUNNING!

NEW AND IMPROVED chat room now available!
Give thanks to the donators, who have graciously paid for this service.
To enter the chat, you can either go to
www.mormondiscussions.com/discuss/chat and log in with your regular username and password, or log in to the forum, and click the "join chat" link at the top of the page. It will open in a new window, so you don't have to worry about losing your place in the forum.

Note: The chat is still in it's infancy -- let's try and keep it on a Terrestrial level until I figure out a way to create different chat rooms for each level. It will be mostly unmoderated at first -- Shades and I have some mod abilities.

Yeah, it's antique, but it's free, and it doesn't require you to create a new username and password. That was difficult as hell to set up.
I can update it to a flash based system pretty soon if lots of people start using it. Or I can set up an IRC room, if people prefer that. I just wanted one of our own, though.

Also notice that when you're in the main page, at the lower-left there's a list of people already in the chat room and a "Join Chat!" link.

If last night and this afternoon are any indication it looks like the chatroom could be popular. Any chance of upgrading it?

There is a very good chance of upgrading it. Unfortunately, not for free. All the good chat software is for sale. $5 gets us a somewhat decent flash-chat, $30 gets us a very nice integrated flash-based chat room. I'm okay with either option, but it'll have to wait till after christmas, unless someone joyously donates :)
