Baptism for the Dead
Baptism for the Dead.
Is it offensive to people of other faiths?
I say yes, particularly if it's done to people who died for their religious beliefs or identify (Holocaust victims).
What's says the panel?

Re: Baptism for the Dead
The Mormon crooks have been caught several times over the past 10 years with their hand in the cookie jar, err as it would be, the Jewish holocaust urn. On each of these occasions the deceitful Mormon leaders have publicly promised to stop necrobaptizing the holocaust victims, only to have their empty promises uncovered a few years later.Bond...James Bond wrote:Baptism for the Dead.

Recently Hillary Clinton was asked by the Jewish community to meet with the Mormon senator whOrrin Hatch and request this practice to be stopped COMPLETELY and PERMANENTLY.
The list of holocaust victims was low hanging fruit that the Mormon reapers of public records just could not resist.
Temples serve a purpose Bond. They keep the adults paying tithing. First they incessantly hound the members about "going and being a savior for the dead" then they do not allow you in unless you pay 10% of your income(temple recommend question) The other reason Mormons pay for the all day pass at the Mormon masonic fun house of green and white, is for family/children that are getting sucked into being a temple attendee typically for either missions or marriage.
What I wonder is how much each harvested public record is worth to the Mormon church in terms of tithing dollars retained .
I would like to see another religion doing excommunications for the dead, where they hold courts of love via proxy for family members that were necrodunked, and do so publically so that the Mormons can see that their relatives names are being desecrated for the selfish reasons.

I'm not sure what all groups the LDS church has targeted for baptisms of the dead, but they do seem to focus on Jews. I'm not sure why such a small facet of a religion gets me so mad, but it just seems to show an extreme amount of ego and lack of courtesy for another religion to speak for another person spiritually.

I think it is justifiable for groups, such as Jews, to view such a practice as unacceptable hubris. Not only are dead souls baptized by proxy, they are then expressly confirmed members of the LDS Church. I can certainly understand why many non-LDS would find this very offensive, regardless of the standard disclaimer that such ordinances are contingent on acceptance by the dead souls.

Apologists for the practice usually justify it on the grounds that it is well-meaning. Nevertheless, it's not as if the people performing the ordinance are sending out announcements, letting relatives of the deceased know that these baps are taking place. There has been an element of sneakiness to the whole affair, in my opinion. And ironically, TBM apologists let loose with all sorts of outrage when they learn of Jewish researches heading into the archives in order to check up on whether the Church has held to its agreements not to baptize Holocaust victims. (One such researcher discovered, of all things, that Mickey Mouse had been baptized by proxy.)

So does it qualify as a missionary program for the dead? Are the ghosts as annoyed as the living by the missionaries?
But seriously it seems very egotistical to even put the offer out there to people who obviously made there choice about religion during their lifetime. There will never be any way of knowing whether a spirit/ghost/soul accepts or declines so why even put out the offer?
Do former popes get baptized in the afterlife?

I find it very offensive, but I find many things offensive, sinceI believe that Gospel is crap and not true, I am not offended that Mormons want to waste their time baptizing people...If you don't believe why does it matter....but on the other hand
I find it offensive that they assume that everyone needs to be baptized....what gives them the right to assume anything for anyone???
I did not allow my sons to be baptized for so many reasons and it really bothers me to know that if the Mormons continue to baptize for the dead, my sons will be baptized...and that I do not want...neither do they
I don't blame other religions being offended and angry what gives the Mormons the right to assume and go ahead and baptize anyonr that clearly did not make that choice on their own...
Will the Mormon church stop this practice???? Not Even
The Mormons don't have to be accountable to anyone for anything now do they.....

BftD seems so pointless.
I am amazed at how limited this God is that people have created.
He requires baptism.
For those who are dead and haven't been baptized, he requires proxy baptism.
Why not do it like this:
1. Resurrect.
2. Baptize those who want it.
3. Give after baptism party and then eternal reward.
The mere fact that splashing in the tub is required "to fulfill all righteousness" is mind boggling. Why does God create such silly requirements? It seems as if an omnipotent God could just bypass some of the ritual.

The ordinance has to be done pre-ressurection to be of effect.
The Holy Ghost sanctifies. It effects the Body.
Also it is a requirement to take on the name of Christ to enter heaven. No baptism ordinance. No heaven.
