I had no idea that receiving a three day suspension constituted a warning that I was soon to be banned no matter what else I did. I repeat, no one gave me any warning that I was going to be suspended, and no one gave me any warning that I was going to be banned.

I thought you were pretty abusive (that doesn't mean to say that Pahoran and others didn't abuse you), but it seems that being of an evil disposition after the warnings you received made your fate predictable.

Could you provide evidence of this alleged 'abuse', and this alleged 'evil disposition'? The only 'warning' I received was an instruction not to respond to Zakuska's posts, and that was given to me at the same time that I was suspended (without warning). Not once did a single moderator warn me for personal abuse, or identify a single one of my posts as aggressive or abusive.

From the very start I was accused of all manner of evil, unChristian motives were ascribed to me, and I received repeated and constant abuse from at least half a dozen members. All of this went entirely uncorrected by the moderators. The most that happened was that after I was banned Hammer was given a slap on the wrist and told to 'play nicely'. Hammer's posts were not removed, and Hammer was not penalised in any way.

During my time on MAD, I reported probably half a dozen posts to the moderators. Not only did they take no action regarding these posts, but I never once received even an acknowledgment from them. You have to admit, non-Mormons are going to draw obvious conclusions from the treatment MAD hands out.

I need hardly mention that I was abused by forum members for actually complimenting one of the Mormon posters, and was accused (without evidence), of 'constant mockery' towards other members.

Please excuse Plutarch's rudeness, Fort. I've concluded that it must be in his DNA. He doesn't respond to reason, or even an olive branch. It's best to ignore him. The other apologists here, Gaz, Mak, Why Me, BC, Asbestosman, and even Wade, have proven to be quite nice.

Then, there are those of us like Rollo, Scratch, Jason, Kevin, Harmony, and me, who are all members, and believe the core fundamentals of Christ, but have problems with different aspects of Church policy. (Plutarch refers to us as hypocrites).

At any rate, Fort, welcome to the board! Shades and Keene have worked very hard on creating a great message board here. I also help moderate, so if you have any types of techie questions, please feel free to PM me.

I don't know about writing on both sides of the paper.

I wouldn't be too concerned about having an evil disposition. It seems to go with the territory with anti-Mormon posters and Mormon posters who refute them. I am not here to defend MAD, but at least from a somewhat outside observer your fate was sealed when you back guns ablazin' after your three-day suspension.

Boy, that "rcrocket" really trounced you, didn't he? I like him a lot. He seems to be pretty smart. I wish he'd post over here.

This made me laugh out loud, Plutarch. Thanks for adding a little levity to the day.

Didn't you once say you never went to that board, Plu? Caught once again. Tsk Tsk.

Plutarch doesn't, but apparently, "rcrocket" does. ;)

Fortigurn wrote:I have to say, after encountering Sargon on another forum, and having found him very courteous, even under heavy opposition, I wasn't quite prepared for the hate, aggression, and sheer abuse of MAD (to which Sargon invited me).

I could have done with a few pointers from the oldtimer 'critics' on MAD as to how to avoid being banned (without warning), though it seems that the only way to stay in good with them is to do what they want.

I like Sethbag, and found it shocking that he - as a Mormon - was reduced to grovelling for his life just for asking what had happened to his signature. I saw other non-Mormon critics survive by raising objections to LDS teaching, but always giving the Mormons a backdoor with a disclaimer like 'Of course we can't be sure', or 'That doesn't mean this proves the Book of Mormon isn't true', so I suppose it's ok to be a critic as long as you undermine your own argument as soon as you make it.

I liked beastie. She stands up for what she believes, and doesn't back down.

Well, Fort, am I to take this as a tacit request on your part for a Sargon dossier? Your wish is my command! Mwahahaha!

So... What to do? If Fortigurn turns up over here, I will happily do a dossier in his/her honor.

If he / she doesn't, could you consider doing a dossier on Mr. Itchy?

What would be really great is if you or someone else could track down Itchy's identity. If you do *that*, then I will most definitely do a dossier on him/her.

I was, after all, the first to vote for Fortigurn on this thread (perhaps the mods can look through the logs and prove it, but I'm not sure). In the meanwhile I suppose we should wait to see where Fortigurn goes.

Well, Fort has turned up here! As best I can tell, he wants a Sargon dossier. If you want to vote on the other thread, go right ahead, ABman. If you get a write-in vote correctly, then I will fulfill your dossier request.

What if Fortigurn is Will Schriver?

That wouldn't matter to me in the least. I am a man of integrity, AB! I would do whatever dossier he wanted.
