I really liked Kathy, and that was a callous thing to say, Gaz.

Actually it was not.Jersey Girl wrote:Gazelam wrote:Sounds like shes in for a really rude awakening when a member of her family comes to collect her and escort her into the Spirit World.
Gaz,
That was bad, bad form, out of line, inappropriate and totally off base for you to say in a thread announcing the death of another person.

This is how most Mormons feel about dead non Mormons.
He is just being a good little minion for LDS Inc.
The rude awakening awaits him, when he realizes he wasted his entire f****** life on a lie.

Porter,
I really don't know much about Kathy Worthington except for some things I've read on RFM. I do believe that people have a right to share their grief and pay tribute to someone who has impacted their lives in a positive way. I request that you repost this thread in the Celestial Forum so it can stand there without interference by people who don't know when to shut up.

Kathy was a kind and gentle soul and her passing does not merit snide remarks. Every interaction I had with her was positive.
Don't you just damn well love it? A cheap shot among an entire ocean of continuous cheap shots. And only the TBMs ever get called on it. Well, I suppose our standards are assumed to be higher. Is that why the double standard?
If GBH died tonight, their would be rejoicing among some on this board; rhetorical dancing upon his grave, and there would be no wagging fingers of moral outrage pointed.
Pathetic indeed Runtu, pathatic indeed.

If they did, I would say the same thing to them. I would never use someone's death for cheap gain. That you would, and have, speaks volumes.
I have had enough. I once thought it was possible to discuss Mormonism with some degree of civility. I don't believe that's possible anymore.

Coggins has a point, kind of. Were GBH to pass on today, I wouldn't necessarily be dancing or rejoicing, but it would register only a few micro give-a-sh*** on my give-a-sh** meter.
I see him as a confused, grandfatherly old man; well intentioned, but seriously deluded into thinking that he has some super-duper special pipeline to God, and the perpetuator extraordinaire of a huge fraud on some millions of humanity. I consider him a cypher in the grand scheme of things, and his passing won't even register a miliblip in the footnote of human history.
So, I won't get offended when people like Coggins can't get too worked up about Kathy Worthington passing on.
Unlike Coggins, I appreciate what Kathy has done. Helping hundreds, if not thousands, free themselves from the material, emotion, spirtual, and administrative tentacles of a cult is something worth celebrating; more so I think than being the Grand Poobah of said cult.
God . . . "who mouths morals to other people and has none himself; who frowns upon crimes, yet commits them all; who created man without invitation, . . . and finally, with altogether divine obtuseness, invites this poor, abused slave to worship him ..."
