Yep, there is only one way that leads "into the land" by ship and that is via a river.

So, the area described is surrounded by water, save the small neck of land which Shulem details in earlier posts. There is literally no geographic region in the Americas that matches the description, save the delmarva peninsula.

That's right and the thousand years of history from Lehi leaving Jerusalem at 600 BC and the final scenes at Cumorah with Moroni in 421 AD covers everything that happened at Delmarva and northward within the regions of that part of North America.

Smith was all too happy to entertain ideas about the Lamanites spreading throughout the hemisphere over the next 1,400 years. Lamanites in Mexico, Central America, and even South America! But prior to 421 AD, the Book of Mormon geography is specific to the region spelled out in the novel. PERIOD!

If you Google “Delmarva Nephi” you get at least two earlier proposals of the Delmarva Peninsula as the lands of Nephi and Zarahemla, with some counter-arguments pointing out apparent discrepancies between some Book of Mormon details and the Delmarva geography.

Even the best find to date must cope with the limitations of an author who had never visited the site of his story.

Smith never had any plans to visit the site of his story. Not ever! In the 15 years he presided over the church and having given the Book of Mormon to the world as a witness of the ancient inhabitants of the land, he never encouraged his people or the world for that matter, to attempt to rediscover the geography outlined in his novel. There would be no pilgrimages to the Nephite holy land! No trying to dig up Nephi's temple. There was to be no archeological search because Smith knew it was all out of his own slippery imagination just like those treasures he used to pretend to dig up.

This, by the way, may be another of those trying-too-hard tells of fraud. The Book of Mormon writers weren’t writing reports back to the King of Spain or anything. So why are they mentioning basic geographical facts about their own homeland? The geographical details in the Book of Mormon seem too sparse for any real effort at conveying geography, but too many for mere casual mention.

You make an excellent point because the Book of Mormon and moreover those specific references defining the narrow neck to include width and length were not written to the Nephite people or the King of Spain but to the LATTER-DAY SAINTS and anyone else in Joseph Smith's day that took a fancy to the Book of Mormon. It was written for OUR benefit to enlighten and educate us about the difficulties had by the righteous Nephites being persecuted by their dark and loathsome Lamanite brethren.

So where is that narrow neck of land?

The answer is simple: Delmarva. It *is* is the only answer.

I need to make something really clear and be somewhat forceful in doing it. First, if you think like the apologists do, you will fail to understand the geography of the Book of Mormon and all this is going to seem whacky and far out. Stop listening to the apologists and stop paying heed to their silly models and dumb theories!

Okay, look, you have to think outside the box. You have to put yourself into the mind of Joseph Smith and become one with him so to speak. Look, Joseph Smith wrote the entire book via dictation through scribes. Stop saying Nephi said this or Alma meant that! It's ALL Joseph Smith. He's personally behind every single character that is represented through the text! Every character in the Book of Mormon that is speaking is Joseph Smith with a mask on. Smith is on stage playing the act. It's all Joseph Smith! You must understand that.

Once you figure that out, then you can really begin to unravel the mystery of the Book of Mormon. But, if you think like the apologists who represent individual characters as if they are supposed to be real characters from the distant past in a real historical background, then you will remain ignorant to the ruse which as Dan Vogel defines as a pious fraud.

The First Presidency through revelation is announcing the geographical location of the land Bountiful in the Book of Mormon and will be sending Church scholars, specialists, and archeologists into that region in search of the ruins of the Bountiful temple. It's time for the modern Church to build a monument in honor of the Nephites and mark the sacred spot and hallowed ground where the resurrected Savior walked.
