The Circle of Truth

Post by _Boyd_K_Packer »

Good afternoon apostates, unworthy sinners, infidels, and the minority here who are truly faithful defenders of the truth.

Today I would like to discuss truth and knowledge, as those topics seem to be popular right now. As we all know, truth comes from our Father in Heaven, yea, even God. Since the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the one true church on the Earth, and since the Prophet and his twelve Apostles act as mouth-pieces for God, all truth and knowledge comes from us. As one of God's representatives here on Earth, I would like to share some of that knowledge with you.

Many here speak of evidence to support truth claims. This saddens me, for truly faithful LDS choose to live their lives through obedience. These sweet spirits will be truly blessed both spiritually and temporally, in this life and the next. That being said, I understand there are personalities that refuse to walk with faith alone. These people require so-called evidence before they believe. Such attitudes will not be blessed to the degree of the truly obedient and faithful, however, believe it or not, I actually do understand this position, and I have prepared evidence for those who require it.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has three primary truth claims: Joseph Smith was a Prophet of God, The Book of Mormon is true, and the Church is true. The wonderful thing about each of these truth claims is that each one acts as evidence for the other two. For example, we know Joseph Smith was a prophet because we know the Book of Mormon is true. Since Joseph Smith was a prophet, it proves the church is true. Since the church is true and it uses the Book of Mormon as scripture, that proves the Book of Mormon is true which also proves Joseph Smith was a prophet.

Some critics call this "circular logic" but I call it "The Circle of Truth." It may seem confusing at first, but once you understand how it all works you see God's guiding hand in its design. As you can see, each piece of evidence is proof for the next piece of evidence. I graphed the Circle of Truth below. The beauty of the Circle is the three evidences can be placed in any order and it still works!

I bear my testimony that the Circle of truth is true, and I encourage all to study it and learn from it. The divine evidence provided by the Circle of Truth will sway the opinion of even the most hardened critic.

I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Ya know, it wouldn't be so embarrassing, if the parody wasn't so close to the way our leaders really reason.

My testimony of the Invisible Pink Unicorn is even stronger because I have faith she is pink and I know logically that she is invisble because I can't see her.

Well here's some circular reasoning I agree with.....

Thanks for the testimony, Boyd, but I'd be more inclined to believe if the Circle of Truth were presented by a more attractive apostle, such as that hunky Bedme...nar or that silky, silver-haired and very tan Uchtdorf.

It is the blueprint of the missionary discussions.

Make them think they had a self induced emotional epiphany about the Book of Mormon, then use that to shoe horn in Joe being a divine prophet of god, then use that lever to open their minds to pour in WHAT EVER the Mormon leaders want, and finally, use that same lever to keep their wallets open to pull money from it.

Where did Jesus go?

I believe you've misplaced Him again.

Do you need some help locating him?

Didn't think so..

..I guess there's a reason why the robbers never find the cops.

In the center of the house called Mormon, sits their Jesus. Before anyone is allowed to see him, the must gain entrance by way of the doorman, Joseph Smith Jr.

Funny, I've entered God's palace and have never seen him at the door.
