The preacher was so forceful they couldn't get a word in edgewise.

Did you notice how, at the end, the preacher refused to shake hands with the missionary? Real nice example of Christian charity, that.

The preacher seems really full of himself. The preacher was looking for mistakes to jump on. He was not trying to see their main point.

The missionaries are young, ignorant, and lack diplomatic skills as did I when I was a missionary. Missionaries aren't looking to understand what people want. They are there to teach the message.

This encounter was worse than worthless in terms oF actual information exchanged. Perhaps the missionaries will one day realize how to better handle fault-finders. Perhaps the preacher will realize how shallow his victory was. If the missionarries had been more aware of semantical dangers, the preacher may not have come off as the one who knew more.

I didn't think the preacher made any points at all. I actually got nothing out of that other than that apparently some people lie in wait for LDS to approach them.

Arguing with that preacher reminds me of arguing with DCP on MAD... you can't get a word in edgewise, he doesn't seem to actually practice what he preaches, and after it's over, he declares himself the winner despite being the only one who said anything.

hehe

OMG you all are wet blankets. Those two Mormon saleboys deserved what they got. They fell into a trap set by Gordon not this preacher.

That preacher tore those Mormon boys a new asshole, right through their bottom garmies!

Actually, their bottom garmies probably have skid marks in them now! I hope they weren't mesh!

At 2:31 the preacher asks the Mormon boys, "Why do I need a Book of Mormon?" the Mormon boy on the right spouts off the typical Mormon rote comment, "So that you will know that JOSEPH SMITH was a prophet"... OMG!!! LOOOSER!

The very end is perrrrfect when the buck toothed coke bottle bottom wearing dweeb on the left almost looks as if he is about to cry and starts in with "I know that Joe smith was a prophet... blah blah blah..." Oh man I fell out of my chair laughing!

I loved that video! Good stuff!

It almost makes me want to start looking for the idiots in my town, just to lead them to a trap made of papyrus!

So let me get this straight... you're on board with the dumbass christian preacher because he blah blah blahed a bunch of nonsense to the dumbass Mormons simply because they're Mormons?

OK. Interesting.

Don't get me wrong, I totally agree with you. . . he ripped them a new one. My contention is that it wasn't so much through a dismantling of their logic as it was through brazen arrogance and hogging the conversation. Plus the missionaries were sticking to the script so badly that they missed the opportunity to give back a little of what they got. If it had been me, I would've let fly with a few well-placed zingers of my own to put him in his place--just like I did on my own mission. (I was one of those missionaries who had no problem adapting to my audience.)

So, again, YES, you're right that the preacher totally gave the missionaries a smackdown, but I think it wasn't due to any disparity of knowledge. It was due ONLY to an unfortunate pairing of alpha vs. beta personalities, nothing more.
